I've been wondering about this .. it's 'suppose' to give me energy but then again you're drinking it before bed and it helps you sleep. Which is it? Should I consider saving this for a bedtime beverage instead of afternoon refreshment?

I’m not as sensitive to caffeine as I am to alcohol. The home brewed stuff has varying levels of alcohol, it’s not as controlled as the store bought brands. I usually drink it after meals, but I’m reading to drink it before meals. It helps control the appetite and aids in digestion. I also read morning before breakfast on an empty stomach is best. Maybe something to test in your experiment?

I was thinking (after paying out $$ for an assortment of choices last night) that if this ability to drink & not hurl continues to morph into a pleasurable experience - that I may figure out that scoby / home brew method.

But yeah, I'm going to be more lenient with the experiment. I think I could handle this ginger one on an empty stomach. It's not that necessary because I don't have trouble with appetite during the day; a couple of mugs of coffee with cream and I'm satisfied.

It’s super easy and you can make a gallon for cheap. Look up images of a scoby and see if it grosses you out. Some people cannot stand the look like trypophobia.

I'm reading it now. I know on day one the suggestion of making my own was offered and I thought 'no way I'm going to do that'... the one I'm reading is explaining her issues (fails) along the way. https://servingrealness.com/how-to-grow-a-scoby/

And HERE is the ever exciting part of AGING. It just now struck me about the whole 'fermented' part of this. In 2013 I was very dedicated to eating a couple of spoons of sauerkraut every morning for the same reason - the gut bacteria. Wow... line connected.

I’m always happy chris 🙂. Yes you can get some unflavored kombucha and grow your own Bella. It’s day 5 now, how are you feeling?

I'm feeling okay. Can't pinpoint any improvement; no severe negatives. I measured my stomach Tue/Wed & it SEEMs larger this morning. (sorry but true) However I'm wondering if the twine shrunk after being cut off the spool - because rope will do that. Maybe not over 3 days but I am just trying to use logic and not panic.

Did you measure on the scale too?
25 Oct 19 by member: moopie321
I don’t think a few days can be measurable in twine, a month yes. A scale might be better to track for a week.

So you all have convinced me to try this again and will run out to the store this afternoon to get a bottle to try. I know 3 of the natural food stores that often have scoby. Also Olde Tyme Pottery usually has a gallon jar with a spigot or I can drag a beer fermenting bucket out of the attic. I think the neighborhood WalMart has Kombucha. Sounds like you all are measuring your waistline to see what happens.

Yes - I am down one pound since Monday. I was down 2 yesterday but went up this morning.

I posted a before after pic where I’m doing a headstand/handstand to see what happened when i started drinking it. My waist is 26” now. I didn’t measure it before, but you can see the difference. I can’t tell if it will help everyone. I don’t see any studies to back up specifically kombucha weight loss properties. I think it’s a combination of water, tea, caffeine and probiotics that’s doing it. Sharon said on Bella’s kombucha post that she experienced a weight loss boost too. I hope you enjoy it, if not hope you grow to enjoy it and get the same benefits as us, wholefoodnut. 💕💕💕

WFN - if you like ginger, the brand I posted today is really good and only 6g of sugar. GTS gingerade. Moopie - thank you. I've been lower/higher and this is all part of my 'do I really need to drop my intake to the Rdi or Not?' experiment.
