kimocan's Journal, 19 July 2010

Well I've never really been much of a runner up until about 5 months ago. Started off running a few 5k's and 10k's and hit my ultimate running experience with a half marathon back in May. But I must say....I got to experience one of the most fun activities this past weekend. The "2010 Summer of Mud" Mud Run @ Irvine Lake. Over 3 miles of rough terrain, obstacles galore and many various mud pits to run, jump and crawl through. I'm hooked. I'm now looking up more Mud Runs to do. Although I've already signed up to run the Santa Barbara Marathon in November. I've always said, I'm not a runner and I hate running, but from the looks of it, I may have to retract those sentiments.

Sometimes eating our words can be a good thing! I'm working on eating those same words myself = ) I've heard about Mud Runs from a former supervisor & they sound really fun. Glad you're hooked! After I run a 5K who knows were it'll lead me, but they do sound like something I'd like.

Wait...does that mean we have to put the words we've eaten into our food journals? lol.... wonder what the caloric intake is for those words. haha. jk.

Idk, but since those words are full of crap I'm guessing the calories are pretty high ; p

Kimocan, I agree I hate to run but last year I ran several 5 ks and they were enjoyable. I live near Chicago I ran the race to Wrigley in April, the Warrior Dash (obstacle course - 5K) in June, and a Jingle Bell Run in December. Let me repeat I hate to run but the experience and the sense of accomplishment was awesome and am gearing up for this year's races. Since you enjoyed the Mud Run you should check out your area for the Warrior Dash it was incredible!
