I just learned that "modified food starch" on an ingredients list is a misleading term for MSG, and that it can increase insulin by 300%. According to Dr. Berg. No wonder it gives me a headache every time. That's why I can't eat fast food. It's in everything at the fast food joints. Then there's of course the sugar. Love your body = skip the fast food.

And who needs starchy fillers? The "safest" food -- unadulterated, no "secret" ingredients -- is that which you prepare for yourself. Instead of "fast" food, I stick with "simple" food when I don't have prep time. That way, I'm not tempted by unhealthy "quickie" carb-laden shortcuts.

Hmm, I never knew that about msg. I bet it’s because msg has gotten a bad rap and they needed to change the name. Thanks for the tip. I also get a headache and diarrhea after msg.

Erika, Don't know is you ever got your answer on CGMs. I know it thru 2nd hand knowledge. Currently having calibration issues with 14 day freestyle libre system. Spent alot of time on the phone with the manufacturer to get a resolution. Simultaneously, talking to another user on Dexcom, to see if it's worth a switch over, he seems to like it. Will get more info when I get another opportunity to chat about this stuff again. Sometimes folks don't want to conversations centered this stuff. The biggest challenge is insurance coverage. The Endocrinologist wasn't writing the right info. on the perscription to meet medicare requirements. Durable medical equipment provider is not allowed to tell dr. exactly what to write to meet it. It took a lot of phone calls over the span of 2 months. Now that hurdle is done, It's worth it to me. I dont have to be worried about the unexpected lows in drops.
