Well, I completed 4 days of fasting and boy am I deeply into ketosis! The stick has turned the darkest purple I've ever seen it, which is pretty darned cool! It's usually a weaker color if I do the test at any other time of the day besides evening, but now it doesn't matter what time I test! I used to get a little frustrated that the stix didn't turn darker purple before when I was doing everything perfectly!

So after I got up this morning, I stepped on the scale, thinking that it has to be good news, considering that I can feel a new set of bones I didn't know i had under all that fat! I think I finally reached HOW I WANT TO LOOK!

SCALE RESULTS; I lost 4 pounds! I made my goal! I started this at 112 because I had a huge cheater weekend before I got started! Holy Molasses! Now what do I do?? I don't know if I want to post it on that graph because they talk about how some of it could be water loss. So if 2 pound is indeed due to water, I'll be back up to 109-110 in no time, and I don't want to have to look at that as a gain! What to do......

I have one more day of the fat fast, so I'm going to complete it. Who knows! I might solidify at least 2 pounds of that loss! After this is over, I have no intention of cheating though! I'm more determined to make that weight loss stick around! It's the first time I've met my goal in FOREVER!

Out of all the diets I've tried, Atkins has been the only one that works for me. That must mean that I had a problem with my carb intake. Considering that my low-fat diet before was primarily carbs, that's no shocker!

So, my overall opinion of the Fat Fast??? It's not that hard to do, I NEVER felt hungry (although I have read several testimonials of people that said THEY WERE hungry). I did get bored with the choices (or lack of), and I got a couple of low-grade headaches when I ran severely late for the next meal, which was no different than any other time in my life when I missed eating for a few hours! On a scale from 1 to 10, i'd give this fat fasting a 9 (due to lack of choices).

I'm going to enjoy my last day of fasting. I have read other 'experts' who suggest eating other things that qualify as acceptable foods for the fat fast. It's hard to trust some of these sites that hold these recommendations, though because I don't see any credentials listed on those sites. But! I won't stray too far from what I was doing!

I truly am the definition of Metabolically RESISTANT! (but my keto-stix is DARK PURPLE!!!)

Here's my menu for the day
(I got up late today...so it won't be perfect!)

9:30 AM 1/4 C. heavy cream in coffee

12pm 2 scrambled eggs with 1 tsp of butter

3pm 1/2 c cucumbers, 2 oz grilled steak
6pm 1 scrambled egg, 1/2 c. sliced cucumbers

8pm 1 oz macadamia nuts (if I can stand them today!)

I'm so glad that you lost those 4 pounds. I think that you should record it! If it is only water loss, don't worry because you know that it WILL come off again. And now that you know that you are committed to Atkins, you'll keep off the weight. Congratulations!

Success is sweet! Congrats for sticking to the plan and losing the 4lbs. Water weight is real, if you lose it. it counts! Of course, I am jealous that you didn't experience the clock watching syndrome. Maybe I just have a mental condition---ok, ok I readily admitted to the mental condition. LOL You have inspired me to do the Fat Fast again, I have to find a week where I have more control of my time and environment, maybe the week of the 26th. Then I will try not notice or complain if I am hungry. Purple is my favorite color!!!

yiipppeee! Yeah for you! reacing your goal! you've done such an awesome job losing and you certainly search for what works for you. I would wait till it is time, the actual day your fast is over. That way you might lose just enough so that if the water weight is there, when it comes back on you might still be at your goal. Either way it sounds like the water weight is still a possibilty no matter what day you choose. You will still have to face that tiny hurdle. At least you will know what it is.

I don't know Atkins, so can't comment on whether your loss was all your hard work or some of it water, etc...but regardless, I am confident that with such big moves in your meal-plan--and an even bigger change in your attitude--you sound so charged--you have succeeded--and this success is here to stay! WOO HOO!!!

That's GREAT!!! I would TOTALLY count it!! If any of it is water weight, you can still keep it off..just watch the salt when you start eating normally again. Take the credit, girl!!

WOW WOW WOW Girlfriend!!! That's is really GREAT! And I'm so jealous that your stick is purple and mine is not.....lol. You have really worked hard at this and it's paying off! If you're afraid of water weight maybe you could just add a little bit of food at a time on the regular Atkins plan till you're maintaining or do that pre-maintenance phase. (I haven't read about that yet so I don't know how that works.) Kudos to you! **applause** :)

Well, HOLY SHNIKEY! That's so COOL!! I'll be doing that this week... I think I'll weigh in on Thursday or Friday and see. I need to pick up some strips.... Why do I always forget them???? Sorry I missed you yesterday girl... was at the hospital til' late!!

What an achievement... ya know there should be an award for things like this... so there should. The "Inspirer of the Week" award or something... what a thing to come back to on a monday morning.. and what a fantastic bit of inspiration to 'give it a lash' (as we say over here) this week... Congrats BA! Maybe returning to Atkins and not cheating will help you to lose the pound or two that might come back after the fast?

woohoo, go andee! congrats on reaching your goal. I vote that you post it. You did reach it after all! even if you have to do a little re-losing later, but we hope not.

I cant believe all the fuss I get about not writing a journal and you havent writen one in TWO DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have one word for that... SHAME!!!
