600 calorie breakfast 8 g net carbs. That’s almond dip. What do you think about calling people out when they underestimate their calories?

I think it is fine to try to help people out if they are not getting their logging right. I am sure people are aiming to be correct. But the trick is to be gentle. Dieters can be very fragile LOL

I have done it, but it resulted in the person leaving the site. She wasn't making any progress, posted a picture of her main meal and listed her calorie count but somehow missed the butter the thing was cooked in, the bread she toasted on the side, and the cheese she put on top. I pointed out that the missing stuff doubled the number of calories and that was the last I have seen of her.

I did it before, not everyone is being honest with the calorie count, we just tried to help but they get mad. Oh well, don't lose weight then! 🤔🙄

I try not to comment on food pictures other than to comment how good the food looks or might taste. I try to be helpful and encourage everyone to keep trying but what they eat won't make me fat...

I think everyone here is here to help. I like it when people tell me what I’m doing wrong so I can improve. John, I’m an admin on a keto fitbit group and there’s one lady who consistently underestimates her carbs/calories. I feel like it’s my responsibilty to remind people to eat within the guidelines. I’ve been giving her gentle reminders that corn, rice and tapioca are carbs or to use a scale or measuring cups for accuracy. I delete her pictures that show foods that aren’t compliant. Her arguments don’t make sense to me. Now I just say “ok” when she pushes back and move onto people who are willing to listen. Keilin, I agree what’s the point of saying how many calories or carbs something is when it’s not correct? You can lie to FatSecret food diary or to the fitbit group, but each of those calories will reveal itself when you weigh in, take a picture or a measurement. Lol Liv and the calorie control comrades.

I'd tread carefully. I have read a couple of journals where others are commenting on what they did or didn't record or 'why' that thing was there and I am baffled because I never look at anyone else's food diary. I think there are people who think their diaries are being judged. Weird. So a post like this is a nice way to address it without finger pointing. But as the admin of a group, yeah, I'd say you have some challenges.

Chris, I agree. How does anyone expect to lose weight when they don’t eat at a deficit? The extra butter, Costco samples, tbs of creamer or dressing or peanut butter whatever all adds up. Can’t complain about work that isn’t done.

Because it’s the “mofo-donkey-kicking-keto lifestyle breakfast and like franks red hot sauce I-put-that-$h!t -on -everything almond effin dip” sounds more exciting than scrambled eggs with sausage.

See, my comments would have been inappropriate at best. When I saw this pic all I could think of was abbadabba's profile pic with her hand on a huge cock....outside of course. So, NVM...I need help. Old man on a calorie cut is not good. So my male pre-historic brain is working just fine.
