Lotus's Journal, 21 April 2008

Well, I got a bit of a drop this morning thank goodness. Hopefully it is a good omen for the week. A lot of it was water, I could really tell. It's the week bfore TOM. It's so annoying.
I never used to have this problem when I was younger(a teenager).
My hips and stomach were so swelled up yesterday I felt like I was going to pop!. I have also been doing lots better on calories.
I need to just keep them at a reasonable level most of the week, with the occassional low or high day, maybe two low, one high a week.
I reckon I got a bit carried away with the higher cal days and didn't balance it out.
Well, on to other news...we got a new chihuahua puppy on Sunday! She is a doll, I will have to get pictures soon.
She's tiny, and black with white and brown markings.
I'm working on paper training her, and she is not doing TOO bad.
I do like her a lot, and I am not really a dog person, I connect with cats better.
But I love all animals though! She is quite needy, but she's so sweet. She loves to cuddle on your neck. We named her Twinkie!
She has a white strip down her middle, that is the creme filling, LOL!
I didn't sleep too great last night.
I set mouse traps in the kitchen, because we are absolutely being TAKEN OVER by vermin, but one trap woke up the puppy, who started whining LOUD, which woke up my daughter, who threw a tantrum from hell, which in turn woke my husband, who I now have yelling at me to do something about it, even though I am doing all I can to stay sane and calm her down. talk about the chain reaction from HADES! I finally got her settled down, but it pisses me off so much how I am the only one that ever diciplines her. She always wants daddy when she is being naughty because he lets her get away with it.
Then when she throws a fit, its all my fault you see.
Well my husband apologized for his behavior but I am tired of it.
He can not handle stress well. I have been very stressed lately because of all the fits she throws, esecially in the evening when he is home. He has been stressed because of work and money issues, and what do you get when you put two stressed out, worn out people together? Chaos. I try to keep my cool, but I swear he just waits to start a fight. OI. I need to do some yoga.

I just heard a snap in the kitchen..be right back.
I'm back. ;) Yep, another mouse. That makes seven since last night!
Good Lord. We ARE infested!
Well everyone have a good day, I will also try, but no promises. :)
At least my weight is going back down. I need to keep drinking lots of water and keep my calories moderate, and maybe i will be able to post a loss this eweek. I hope so.

Yuk Ive had mice in my student house as well!! They go for biscuits and bread. Nice to see your chart go back down, you deserve it. Enjoy the puppy, they grow up so fast! You can have fun walking it loads when it grows up as well! Make sure you get your husband to pull his weight, it is probably more stressful for you to be looking after a child going through the tantrum stage than it is for him to be at work!! Explain that you need your sleep too!! xxx good luck. xx

I hate emptying the mouse traps, it's so gross. I think mice are kind cute, but not wth their heads all smashed in :X Chihuahua's are so tiny, I think taking it for a "drag" would be more like it! :) She won't get very big, happily. I wanted a small dog this time. big dogs are so destructive. twinkie may be too but her little teeth can't do near as much damage! Thangs will calm down with me and hubby..he is jsut having a hard time at work, and when we are both stressed out it gets to be a bit much. thanks for your concern.

I think most of us can relate to your woes, in one way or another. The stress of being a mom, irritated hubby, financial stresses, and yes, even mice! Boy, do I have a story about some verman, me, and a pellet gun!! lmao I'm now known as "Pammie-Oakly", nice. lol Chin up babes, todays a new day! You can do it!

Congrats on the puppy! Twinkie is a really cute name. Any puppy questions just let me know, I foster puppies for a rescue group, and am pretty good with the advice!

Good work, Lotus - you're nearly back down to your record low again! I can SO relate to the stress of those toddler tandrums - sometimes they're just so ridiculous, I have laugh! Like tonight, Finlay had the screaming habdabs, because he wanted to carry on bouncing on the exercise ball rather than getting in the bath. He then proceeded to scream throughout his bath, trying to climb out the entire time. Then the moment he did get out, he wanted to get back in again, because he'd just remembered how fun bathtime is after all!! You are brave taking on a puppy as well! Good luck!! :)

I love chihuahuas! will you post a picture? ohhh... mice. I have mice in my attic... well, I did, until the landlady put traps up there. I HATE to go up and retrieve them, but I am assuming the alternative is probably worse. I think I still have a couple living mice in the utility closet. Sorry you're stressed out, hope things calm down soon!

Have you seen those new mice traps? the ones where you don't have to see the mouse after it's been smashed?

Those Chihuahuas really are great companions. They make a racket at the slightest sound and really keep things safe. And, they are low maintenance. You are almost back to your low which is Excellent! Keep up the good work lorik, I hope you are well (besides the vermin)! :-)
