I am completely overwhelmed. I know how I got here, just not sure I will ever be able to get back to a healthy weight. I am 280 pounds and desperate. My health is not good and I have two younger children. I know I need to take things one day at a time, but I am just so disgusted with myself. I am committed to the long term this time. I feel like this is my last chance. I must get healthy. This weight is killing me.

I found increasing your water intake is huge in weight loss. I’m trying to drink at least 75-120 oz a day and it works. It detoxes the body and curbs hunger and kick starts your metabolism. You can do this!! I also started doing squats again. Start with little exercises like try 10 squats. Then the next day shoot for 15.... my weight was close to yours in November. Doing these things will make you want to incorporate more healthy choices to because you will start to feel better. Like we switched from pasta to zucchini noodles and omg it’s amazing. We all love it more then the pasta and that includes my kids.

You can do it! Once you get started and lose a few pounds the motivation to keep going will be stronger. If there are other things affecting your weight - depression, etc - make sure to face that, too. The road looks hard when you start, but many of us have been there and done it! I shocked myself by losing 60 pounds - never thought I could do it. FS was a huge help. I gained some weight back and now have to start again - I knew maintaining would be hard. We’re here for you - to celebrate and to support when you need it.

This site is super easy and very helpful...it's also really nice for the support that you get. Doesn't matter whether I lost or gained people are always there to cheer me on!

Find an exercise you enjoy and can maintain. You don’t have to join a gym - it can be walking around the block. Take baby steps and soon you’ll be looking for more ways to be active.

Shiny, we are here for you to vent and write out your frustrations. I am working on my last 10 - 15 pounds to get rid of and it feels like an eternity to get there.

Thank you for the support. I have been suffering from debilitating back pain that has kept me from being active. I am finally getting some pain relief, so walking is a great suggestion. I am also working with my medical doctor for help because I am on medication that works against my efforts at losing weight. I have never asked for support, but am so glad I found this site. Good luck to all on your journeys ☺.

Take deep breaths and do not panic. Do not be disgusted by yourself as that really doesn't help and will likely hinder your progress. You are your own best friend. Say nothing in your head to yourself that you wouldn't say to your friend. I am sure you don't tell your friends that they disgust you! So don't say that to yourself. Also habits are made over time whether they are helpful or unhelpful habits. It will take time to replace the unhelpful ones so be patient with yourself. Any step forward is better than no steps. It does not need to be all or nothing! We are here for you. You will find your way.

I hear you, you are in the right place and I’m happy to tell you sweetheart I have been exactly where you are weight wise and I know the feeling of it crushing you. Keep journaling! It is hard to open up but it keeps a dialogue with the community open.

hi Shuny! Take it easy young lady! You.ll be fine! The start is the main thing and everyone is fantastic!! My exercise is walking... so easy! It s a great time to start a new life..right at the beginning of the year! Lots of water...lots of fun time with the children playing! You ve got this!
