I finally did it. I broke down and uninstalled my favorite puzzle game off my phone. I spend a significant amount of time playing it -- Jewels Crush -- and I really enjoy it. What caused this? Well, I had been thinking about deleting it a few times, but then just never did. Actually, I think I was simply inspired to uninstall based on an ad for another game, where Ryan Reynolds is supposedly constantly playing on his phone for literally hours at a time. I'd seen other ads, but this one actually displayed a clock showing the passing of hours. Now I know Ryan probably does not play the game for hours or if at any more time past the shooting of the ad. In a way it was enlightening and it reminded me of how much time I devoted my attention to the game and not on interacting with others, including my spouse. Literally, we sit in the living room and usually we are both on our phones playing games and have little to no interaction other than what channel do you want to watch on the TV. Totally not a good place to be and I am over it. So if uninstalling an addictive app on my phone can help me interact with my loved ones, then so be it.

OH and the craziness that ensued at lunch (see journal) - I was totally not hungry. It was just lunchtime and even though I was not the slightest bit hungry, I totally ate reasonably, then went stupid. Mindless stupid - which translates into no supper, because I am pretty sure I will not be hungry till tomorrow at lunch. Gee! Why do I do this to myself?

WOW! I am majorly impressed with your self awareness, and acting on it!! Not kidding even a little. I feel like i can know i have destructive habits for years before i am moved to action.
