CrashtestDawnie's Journal, 30 September 2018

So I was thinking about experimenting starting tomorrow. I have found what helps me lose weight. Which is half the battle of being healthy. The other half is having a healthy relationship with food. I don’t think I do and I think I’m going to spend the next week trying to develop that strength. Wish me luck. Off keto tomorrow (😱😰)

And I also say, I know if I would cut carbs I could easily lose 5 lbs

But eating fruits, vegetables and treating myself with “junk food” is worth those 5 lbs of water weight 🙌🏼😏

@TtinaBee I heartily agree that fixing the food relationship is so very important. It's fighting the disease vs fighting the symptom.

smart eating and staying away from junk food is workable. whole foods and enough protein to fit your energy needs. you can make it work. just find your trigger foods and avoid them.

Thanks guys ❤️❤️❤️ Your encouragement means a lot 😊 I’m glad you guys got my back! I’m not telling anyone else I’m off keto they’d try to feed me cookies lol My triggers are sweet foods for sure. Fruit may do it. But I’m ready to battle my cravings!!!!

yep you won't know what you can tolerate or at what level until you test things. I found that potato's don't seem to bother me so rare. Lol!

You’ve got this! Healthy food relationship is so important! I don’t cut carbs but I’ve noticed I have a healthier relationship that most people I know, I don’t crave the crap anymore, and if I do, I can really take it or leave it and swap for a piece of fruit or something else that I realize is what my body actually wants anyway. I found it really helpful when I found a chart that listed cravings vs what your body actually needs from that craving. Then the swap made logical sense too and the craving is satisfied. Good luck!!

@chrisw77 - I gotta come to her defense on this one, she can rock the 'portion sizes' like no one else :) I just shake my head when she posts a 'meal'. I'm like "...and what do I eat after I wolf that down in three bites?" :)

Luckily my stomach has shrunk so I can not eat as many calories in one setting as I use to. I could easily eat a medium pizza in the course of a few hours before I started dieting. Carbs make me very full very fast. They don’t keep me full or satisfied for very long though.

ha I can eat most of a large pizza at one sitting, probably still can. I love pizza! but I generally only eat the toppings since keto. My husband and I don't really enjoy the crust much.
