I'm curious about eating one meal after a day of over doing it....who does that?

I went to a bday party out of town yesterday and are whatever i wanted...the cool part is that i did eat bad but ate far less than i usually would have on a cheat day because i didn't deny myself what i really wanted. I'm trying to learn how to live well for life, not just reach a goal and then fall of the wagon.

I'd like to just eat chicken and veggies today once to counter act what I've done? and maybe do this Everytime i overeat?

i read online conflicting stories about that is really effective and also that it won't work and will only make me gain fat.

only experienced people in this please

I just came off a cheat day last week, I ate a whole pint of ben and jerrys's and other things like a pizza. around 1900 calories. I gained water weight for a couple days, ate sensibily the next couple days and it is all gone. and I lost another pound today. so go figure. having a day to eat what you would like and not going too crazy I really don't see a problem. over the balance of the week you should balance out.

I wouldn't recommend one meal after a cheat day. sure, it may work to counteract whatever you ate the day before but I dont think its healthy mentally. it's like punishing your body for enjoying some good food for a day and then restricting the next. not healthy in my opinion! I would just go back to healthy eating and not worry about it. As long as your not having a cheat day every day, you will be fine:)

Instead of going down in your meals, how ‘bout going up on your exercise routine?!

It is perfectly fine to do what you stated. And it can be done whenever you over eat due to bday parties, holidays etc. Remember, you should also think of your caloric intake in terms of per week. It is perfectly fine to have high and low calorie days during the week, AS LONG AS the total calories per week is the same. You can always compensate with a low calorie day if you know you are going to over eat. Hope that answered your question.

Go for it! I do this once in a while, and I will also bump up my activity level for a day or two - not hard workouts but lots of extra activity - mostly walking for me...

If I have a bad eating day I will go lite the next day. In my mind the body is having to process a lot of that bad eating day garbage and the less new stuff it has to deal with the faster the garbage will get out of my system.

Great job enjoying yourself! I'll sometimes go lighter for a day or two after an indulgent meal or weekend. Mostly keeping to fruit, veg and protein, usually around 2-400 less than my normal. I don't really do it because I know I overdid it (not to punish myself), mostly to help get over that stuffed or bloated feeling. It all averages out in the end 😉

Eating back on schedule is the way to go. Drink more water than you normally would and move on. In my experience this is what had worked best. Buuuuuut congratulations on making the step to enjoy yourself! 🙂Finding balance was the hardest part of my journey.

I do OMAD after a bad days , if not I eat healthy meals( plain oatmeal and berries or lettuce salad with chicken breasts) for a couple of days and the water is gone

I usually eat a lot on the weekends 2000+ calories and I have a couple days of the week with less than 1000 calories calories and that works perfectly for me
