It's also Tony & mine's 27th wedding anniversary. We met on the 29th April 1991, moved in together 4th May, booked the wedding 29th May and got married on my birthday. We were told that we were mad, and we probably were, but we were both looking for someone and stability. It seems to have worked.

We spent yesterday with Tony's ex-wife (who was at our wedding too) and her partner's. Sue-Yung our daughter in law has her sister and her 2 boys over from S. Korea, so Karen & Becky did a typically British Xmas Dinner for us all. Including vegan elements as Tony's daughter is now a vegan - Karen, Tony & she are all vegetarians anyway.

We had - prawn cocktail, turkey & trimmings, sherry trifle and vegan chocolate log - with candles for my birthday - and port & stilton.

Mike, Sue-Yung & co are coming here today - it's all about giving the boys as big an experience as possible - just think they'd never seen a cat before arriving here. I can't compete with Karen's cooking so it's pizza for the boys and cheese & onion pie for everyone else. Ice cream for pudding. All very british. Then they're off to Hastings and Eastbourne - where they're staying the night.

Then that's it - until the 29th September, when I have to come up with Alice in Wonderland themed costumes for Tony & I for his daughter Alice's 40th birthday party at Becky & Karen's. Any (cheap) ideas?

Wow Mini, busy or what! I think all of the costumes are easy and cheap if you are craft minded but the easiest would be the playing cards - bit of cardboard, paint and a pair of tights. Burrowing through the local charity shops will also unearth all sorts of goodies you can use but cardboard and paint will definitely be your friend (you could always go as the looking glass).
