Wait, what? Just liquids or something?

I'm drinking only water and coffees with unsweetened almond milk and a little bit of cream. I'm not starving, I'm in ketosis with no hunger whatsoever. I feel great and I go 3 times a week at the gym without issues 😊

How is this healthy for the body drinking only water and coffee with milk? I’m dumb to this for sure but as a nurse is this healthy to sustain your organs and bones if you’re not eating for so long? I’m not criticizing because you seem ok and doing well but I just would be afraid to only have liquids like this for so long. Be safe as your body could crash but if you’re happy I’m glad you’re loosing

Our bodies are not designed to eat constantly. It is not a mistery that we could survive with just water for weeks and weeks (given enough body fat available- which is obviously my case). Fasting is a therapeutic technique used since centuries. However, our overeating culture let's us forget about it. The word "healthy" is over abused nowadays, I'm sure all we eat is not healthy either, including medicines!

I guess that’s each his own here is what’s best but I know I could not go on just water and coffee with milk and nothing else for 65 days. I would faint for sure and have no energy for work outs. Even when I had a lot of fat on me I intermittent fasted and even then could not do it long as I was hungry. I guess we need to do what’s best for us and for me it’s just making good choices and eating as well as I can indulging once in awhile at least that’s how I’ve lost my 51 pounds thus far. Good luck to you in your continued weight loss Pizzalover88

To me, what you're describing is starvation, and your insistence sounds a lot like Ana or similar eating disorder. Our bodies can't function without protein, can't build muscle. So it's very likely that a significant portion of the weight you're losing is muscle tissue. You weren't obese to begin with, just a little overweight (and being in 130s is a "healthy" range at this point). Your body needs fuel to make muscle and maintain It, and you dont seem to have enough body fat for that. While extremely low (doctor monitored) calorie intake for very obese patients has shown to be effective (usually in conjunction with stapling or b12 shots for appetite suppression) it's not a reasonably healthy approach for most people. If youre going to continue your fast, I can only sugeat consulting a doctor for an assessment first

I know when working in the ER I had a lady come in who was on the Bernstein diet loosing about 20 pounds a month on 500 calories a day and in her third month suffered a bad gall bladder attack and had pancreatitis as well from the low calories and she was eating not fasting. I’m not saying this is a bad diet but I guess for her (and she was healthy) her body shut down. I’m just concerned this will happen with you and eventually when you loose the weight you want if you eat again the weight will come on faster. I just can’t imagine fasting for this long ?

I'm sure a lot people get freaked out by extended fasting, However if you've never tried it it's hard to understand. Simply, the body burns fat. This is what happens when we lose weight :)

@nikkiferrera - There is a weight history that goes back 5 years. It shows weight as low as 118.

65 days without eat??!! Holy shit! Beast mode!! 💪 How many days are you aiming for? Or are you just playing by ear?

Btw I was not hurt or offended or anything like this! 😉 Anyone is entitled to have their own opinion and to live the best life they can. I don't believe exists a diet that fits all of us. Everyone is a unique human being with different needs. I did a lot of "medical supervised" diets that ended up bringing me to eating disorders. Fasting removes all my cravings and anxiety, I cannot be happier for that... Not saying that I still don't need to resolve my personal issues but at least is something. For the not losing weight while fasting - is very normal for anyone. First I eat still quite a lot calories to be fasting, plus as with many other food regime, my body is smart enough to adapt and preserve itself. Muscle loss is important first to understand what it is when in ketosis. No human would ever survive if it was that easy. Good luck everyone!

I genuinely care about you all, and you’re all too wonderful to starve yourself. I really hope y’all understand, there are other ways. That said, you do you, and just be careful ♥️

@KayBuckaroo - I can TOTALY appreciate that you would not want someone to harm themselves! For me, the difference is feeling that 'body fat' *is* 'food'. When I have body fat, I have *food*, and I do not believe I am 'starving'. I'm not trying to change your mind, just acknowledging that I understand how this may make you feel, and to perhaps provide a perspective.
