To snack or not to snack, that is the question. I have the calories in my weekly budget as I saved yesterday and I did extra stuff today to make sure I burned a lot of calories. Just don’t know if I should use 100-200 if the 1000 now or save for the weekend.

I find it works better for me to think of it like money. I made/burned this amount and that’s all I can spend/eat. Being in maintenance I CAN use them all OR I can have a savings account (maybe a loss).

How does everyone decide what they should do if they still have calories to eat? I’ve got the munchies and the tummy is starting to growl a bit but I’m not ‘hungry’. Water wasn’t satisfying and neither is a diet cherry limeades. Perhaps I should wait an hour and just have my last ounce of almonds or a 90-100 calorie treat. Or reach a chapter, go to bed early and think of the 1000 caloriesnive saved in the last two days lol.

I too think of it like money 💰 it’s what I have to spend, save, and earn via exercise. I love this analogy- it really works for me.

We use whatever works for us :). My nickname as a child was RB(RichBitch). Thankfully the uncles who gave me the name didn’t tell me what it stood for until I was a teenager. I was nice but I saved money, like hoarded it!! I’d save Christmas money for years so I could buy something big. This diet has become like that. If I save up calories I can have pizza or maybe two candy bars. OR I could spend a little here and there and have an extra beef jerky or 90 calorie rice crispy treat. I’m not good with decisions lol. So I’ll probably keep playing on my phone and fall asleep before I grab a snack. Passive decision making at work lol.

I love it! I do the SAME THING. I eat salad and fruit, so I can have chocolate and “too many “ of xyz. I’ve got to have my sweets and my compromise was to nix the white starches.

I don’t eat mayo on my sub so I can have those calories in chocolate 🍫 or whisky 🥃 whatever is around 😆

Yeah I can’t give up white starches completely. I also can’t seem to give up my treats so as long as I get 90+g of protein I go easy on myself about treats :). You must have good willpower t give those things up! As for whiskey no thanks. Something else I don’t like lol. Family of drinkers and I’m the black sheep sipping my coke or iced tea 😳. But chocolate I don’t turn down often!! I’ve begun testing myself. I have 3-4 candy bars in my junk basket. So far I’ve stared them down the last few days and have chosen protein bars, jerky or a 90 calorie treat instead. When I feel that I can have one and not want another I’ll eat one. Most days I don’t trust my self control so I just daydream while staring at them lol.

I have learned I do care about my weight I’m no longer in denial so if I care than I must eat in moderation

I understand about the alcohol

if I'm craving something enough that it makes me irritable, I indulge in moderation. it has kept me sane and on track

Yep, it's like managing money. Simple math. Delicious math.

It's managing your life...which includes money, weight (calories) and a lot of it boils down to simple arithmetic. Good for you on being your own successful life manager!

I had half a small beef jerky left from the previous day so I had that. Then at bedtime the tummy just wouldn’t quit so a 90 calorie rice crispy treat. Finished the day right where I should be and still have Mondays 600 in the bank :). Looks like today I’ll have some left over too. Plain chicken wrap for lunch and chicken and noodles for dinner. Protein bar and shake to round it out then whatever I just can’t live without before bed. That’ll put me at 1000 again. I’ll add something in as I don’t like to have too many 1000 calorie days. Tomorrow is left overs so I’ll get more calories that day. Thanks all!

This week I been doing the math, I need to save calories for the weekend , next week it's going to be a cake's week, 26th-27th it's mine and hubby's birthday

Oh happy early birthday! I skip the cake and the family takes me out to eat. More nutritional but higher calories over all lol. Of course then they usually whine about no cake so we have to get ice cream or a cinnamon roll. I just plan to try my best to maintain from about Nov 25 until Jan 1st! From November to early January we have 4 of our birthdays and at least 9 family holiday meals not including the birthday meals. These are big meals and most of the time I can’t really count calories as there are mostly casseroles. It’ll be a challenge on my self control and will let me know how well I’m doing portion wise I think.
