NSV today: my hairdresser noticed that I'm losing weight! She mentioned it as she began to cut. I was very impressed because I've only lost 16 pounds so far. However, all of it has been in my face, neck, shoulders and (flabby) arms. I seem to be losing from the top down, or "melting". Still, a victory is a victory and I was glad she noticed.

Nice! I usually lose from the top down, but this time it is both ends toward the middle. I will take it from wherever it wants to go, just so it goes!

Best feeling when someone notices our hard work!

Doesn’t it feel great when someone notices? Everything online that I’ve read says you lose evenly across the body but I don’t believe that. I used to lose as you are- from the top down with the exception of outer thighs(they gradually lost). This time around I’ve lost more from thighs and abdomen than anywhere else. Well my face first technically. I put weight on my face last which stinks as I’d like chubby cheeks :). Great job on your progress! 16 pounds may not seem like much to some but it IS a great accomplishment. (I used to think 15-20 wasn’t much until recently and now realize it makes a big difference)

It's interesting how the fat sticks and melts, isn't it? I found a record of my measurements over the past 6 years; an Excel document that I forgot I had. I started updating it with current measurements and the weird thing is that no matter what I've weighed (top end 185; weigh in today at 154), my stomach/abdomen measurement is about the same. I've lost about an inch everywhere overall, but that gut stays put.

My stomach loses some but I find the last bit just likes me too much. I have about 1-2 months to get fat off either my thighs or my love handles 😵. I really don’t care where but one needs to shrink by then lol. After surgery I’ll drop another 3# the week after I think. I did last time in a calorie deficit and just getting in more steps and going for a walk when time permitted and when I felt up to it. I was assured it wasn’t the small amount of fat grafting but rather that my body needed more calories to heal and I neglected to eat enough. I’ve also noticed that my calves didn’t gain much in comparison to my thighs. It’s almost like my knees said ‘nope, you stop here!’ Lol.

@SoCalPam - My gut is not moving either. I thought I could just keep losing weight to get rid of it, but now I feel I look 'gaunt'. Gut is STILL there. It is going to have to stay there for now because I can't stay at my current weight...

I think my own gut is just going to sag down to where it appears flat but is flapping around my thighs somewhere. There's a happy thought. I've had too many abdominal surgeries and the nerves are dead; they don't stimulate the muscle. Ah well.

I know what you mean about the "flapping"... Ha Ha! I only had one surgery (full hysterectomy) so I'm hoping that I might be able to change that somewhat once I get serious about exercising... Have a good one!

Our trainer informed me that the stomach and love handles happens in the kitchen and can only be lessened in the kitchen. I do try but half she foods she listed are things I dislike immensely. I’m not a juicer, can’t live on vegetables as without meat for several days I feel awful... I used to eat mostly junk so now I’ve went back to half Whole Foods like meat and veggies and have noticed some change. Not as much as I’d like. But for me if some of it stays around and I can have some treats then I’ll learn to live with my mid section lol. Our trainer has a baby less than a yr old and doesn’t look it. She does cleanses and juices a LOT. There may be something to it if it’s someth you may enjoy :).

I am the same way I always lose top first, normally my legs are the last to lose but this time I am thinking with my belly being so big and stubborn it will be the last to go.
