Wow so I thought I was being good today. I went out with friends. Had naked unbreaded plain wings and side salad no dressing. Jack daniels with Diet Coke and then 2 shots of vodka later on. I’m no longer in Ketosis. 🤬😧😱😨💩 no freakin idea why. I mean my macros are terrible but I only ate 20 carbs and still got over 50% fat... not sure What I’m going to do :( This is so freakin unexpected I’m just in shock :( also my blood sugar is 100! I am so upset right now like what the f**ck??!!

How long does it take to get back into it? I mean, keto's advantage is making you feel full easier, if you're not starving and eating everything in sight, why does it matter?

I think Hooters set you up..Kidding..Really dont sweat it..I dont think anybody is in "ketosis" 24 hours everyday....Do you take blood test..I always want to see where I was but I am to cheap to buy the kit

You realize that some diet drinks cause spikes in blood sugar levels and insulin even with lack of calories due to the fact the body processes the sugar content the same way as any other natural caloric sugars in the body. If it was around 2 hours after consumption then it can explain the spike. If you have blood sugar issues such as diabetes or some other medical conditions related, diet/sugar free foods are things you’ll want to try to limit due to the body’s inability to differentiate between artificial and natural sugar sources... if you have no medical problems. Then you’ll be fine regardless of being in or not being in “ketosis”...

The problem is people think that if they're not in ketosis, they are no longer making progress, hence the outrage. A keto diet simply restricts options which helps people reduce calories. The calorie restriction is what is causing the fat loss, so as long as you're still in a deficit, it doesn't matter.

that daquiri could have had hidden carbs in it to knock you off. I looked them up on another site and it showed a lot more calories and carbs than you posted. fortunately it is a temporary thing. bet in the morning you are back to having a mild color on your strip. your overall reduction of calories a day will carry you through.

and I don't know what naked chicken wings are, but fried wings are crazy high in calories. my husband makes them on occasion for us and there are no carbs whatsoever in them but calories are in the 700 to 800 range depending on how many I eat.

If I were on this diet I'd avoid measuring ketones or blood sugar for 3 days once I consume alcohol. I'd learn what my body does when I consume alcohol relative to carbohydrate and fat processing. If I lost 10 pounds in a month I'm not sure I'd care about the alcohol consumption and just keep moving toward weight loss goal. I am 100% certain I'd give zero fart knuckles about protein relative to this diet if I am consuming less then 1200 calories daily. YOU WILL BE FINE. ALL IS CALM.

how are you testing ketones? And you'll be right back into ketosis TODAY! I bet we all fall out when eating without knowing from time to time. it's the fat adaptation your looking for now I believe.

I measure my ketones by blood. I have been in a constant state of Ketosis for 7 weeks (2.5-5). I test regularly. I’ve only drank alcohol 1 other time and blood ketones didn’t lower and I also tested my ketones and blood sugar after making keto friendly cookies and brownies (full of artificial sweeteners) and I had no spikes. The daiquiri from last night was literally a half tsp full. Just put my tongue into the tester lol. What I think must have happened was those Quest chips may be complete bullshit (way more carbs than they claim) and threw me out of Keto or my server gave me Real Coke instead of diet last night.

I understand that everyone is on different diets here, but I am on the keto diet. The point is to stay in Ketosis. Getting back into Ketosis could take me a week. I was planning to stop my Keto diet for my vacation in 1 1/2 weeks so now I’m wondering what the hell I should do. You don’t simply bounce back and forth with Keto

Alcohol will always make you gain. It turns to sugar.

Baskington the wings were from Hooters. They don’t put anything on the raw chicken, just fry and serve.

Also I don’t know if I had diabetes when I first stared. I had symptoms but I was probably in the beginning stages.

Ooohh it could have been the diet coke, ahhh that's scary! If they gave you real coke. I hate that. Do a 24 hour fast maybe. You might get back into keto much faster than in the past since you've been so GOOD! 👍 I HOPE SO!

Oh man, I’m so sorry! That is so frustrating, especially when you made good choices. I’m no expert, but I think clear alcohol is what you’re supposed to stick to, so maybe it was the Jack? Or the Diet Coke? But if artificial sweeteners haven’t affected you before, then I don’t know. Maybe it was just a larger amount of artificial sweetener in a shorter time frame than you’ve had before? It’s going to be okay, just keep doing what you normally do and you’ll get back there. 😘

Alcohol = Sugar I think. I don’t do soda pop at all so couldn’t comment about those artificial sweeteners these days. Just a spike. I’m sure you’ll be fine. 😎

Thanks guys!! I guess just fasting over night put me back in Ketosis (1.6 blood reading). I have been insanity strict with carbs so I guess it’s easier for my body to get back in Keto. I think my Diet Coke last night was probably regular coke. That’s got to be what did it. Unless my body just can’t handle 3 shots of alcohol. It was spread out over 2 hours though. So I guess I will keep calm and Keto on 😬

Hey one more thing, when ever i drink, my pee is PURPLE on the stick, deep. I am never deep unless i drink. I don't know how that translates to blood. I knew you'd be great! I accidentally chugged a Sprite thinking it was diet. I realized it after i did a MASSIVE CHUG! Uhh, the heartbreak LOL. I logged it and realized it wasn't total fail since i hadn't had any carbs that day! Good job. Booo Bartender.
