Happy Monday Everyone - Another amazing day ahead. I had a fantastic weekend reconnecting with family that I haven't see for about 10 years. Seeing them and their grown kids is so awesome. I was trying hard to not make it about my recent health gift (it did come up but it is not everything)and focus on their lives and what is happening with them. the last time we were together my Dad was still around - one of my older cousins commented that I looked just like my Dad and sounded like him. I missed him there - truth be told he was there with me. Knowing that made it ok.
It was good to be able to put into practice all the tools I learn here to keep on track. I ate well and was able to enjoy the food with out freaking out (well just a little on the inside) - which allowed me to just enjoy the conversations and company. This is what life is about - being present to enjoy the adventure.
My lesson learned for the weekend was that timing of my meals really impacts my blood sugars - I ate later than normal through out the day and my numbers were elevated for me at bed time. I was back in the normal ranges this morning so it was all good. I still felt ok so I am chalking it all up as a success.
My wife was/is amazing and super helpful while we were on our adventure. I am so grateful that I have a life partner that really has my back no matter what. I am grateful for my family and that I am able to enjoy their company. I hope that you all find joy and peace on your adventures.
