All_Pain_No_Gainz's Journal, 06 November 2021

196.2lbs - 11.8lbs gained. give or take 1lb. final weight in of 14 week bulk. I've spent the last 3 weeks stuck in the 196-197 range. my body just didn't want to push past that. I held alot of water this week and it screws up my average but this is the number I've been seeing every Saturday morning. I slowly ramped up into a 900 calorie surplus, now is the fun part of finding my new maintenance number. if I can hang onto 195lbs after going into maintenance I will be happy with that. 💪🏻 I plan a 3month maintenance then a 6-8week mini cut before summer. depending on what I look like. I may just go straight into another massing phase. 🤷🏼‍♂️
196.2 lb Lost so far: 120.6 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Rick, so you purposely want to add weight, maintain, then do a mini-cut as in drastically reduce body fat or loose some weight? I am trying to understand the lingo now that I am planning to hit the gym.

Tai, yes cut is weight loss. When you bulk you eat in a surplus of calories to gain weight. You give your body enough calories to gain strength and put on muscle , in the process you also put on some fat. The goal is to have enough energy above and beyond what your body needs so your not 'leaving gains on the table'. Maintain what you gained to give your body time to adjust and recover from the weeks of intense training. Then a cut ( calorie deficit) to lose some of the fat you may have put on. Then repeat. And there are tons of variations of each process. MainGaining, lean bulking, dirty bulking.. ect . All preference or goal to each person .
