JustBananas's Journal, 22 October 2020

Today is packing day 1, and the beginning of purging the apartment of all of the junk that I've accumulated over the past 2 years but never used. Not exactly an aerobic workout, but should burn a decent amount of calories.

I made enough food yesterday to cover me through the weekend, so that I'm not tempted to order takeout. Am also trying to run down the food supply, so there's less perishables to pack. There's a grocery store only a few blocks from the new apartment, so I can just walk instead of always having food delivered.

I kinda like the idea of starting at a new home with a kitchen bursting with bowls of fresh fruit and a basket of fresh tomatoes and red onions and purple eggplant. And of course, a pumpkin on the front porch. Along with my resolution to take advantage of the open-year-round swimming pool and the hiking trails close by, I'm going to cook less and eat more salads. At my lowest weight (118 lbs), I was a machine on all those good carbs, and had the energy and strength of a teenager.

Only 29 pounds to go!
144.1 lb Lost so far: 26.6 lb.    Still to go: 29.1 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 2.0 lb a week

Thank you, Sk! Today was spent throwing out all the crap from the kitchen and the office. Done! Tomorrow is closet and bathroom. And then I actually pack. No calories burned today, but tomorrow morning I'm taking a Zoom class from Letty, so I'll be charged for the day!

I am so excited for your move. Something about a change is nice sometimes. New beginnings. You certainly have a plan in place which is better than 90% of the population who would likely just grab fast food until the dishes were brought over and unpacked. ;) Way to go! The last 29 will probably fly off.

Thank you, Acomandr and Princess! I've never been a fan of fast food or takeout beyond pizza (since it's made to order), so it's not overly hard to shun it. But for the matter of convenience, I get it. And it IS a new beginning, which is the time when lifestyle overhauls are easiest for me, anyway. More packing to do today, but will try to get outside for a walk to escape the boxes everywhere.
