Weight is maintaining. Today, I'm beginning a personal challenge. Jack Canfield, a motivational speaker whom I love, challenged me to set a goal for 30 days, and to do it EVERY day, without exception. I've chose two goals to begin with: (1) drink at least 48 oz of water daily, and (2) walk at least 1/2 mile a day, every day, rain or shine (I can walk inside if I have to). These goals work great, because they are already things I am SUPPOSED to be doing in the weekly challenges! So, for at least the next 30 days, I will be a water-drinker and a regular exerciser! Already have in 16 oz. of my water for today!
222.0 lb Lost so far: 37.0 lb.    Still to go: 72.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

The very first person I ever helped on their weight loss journey was more than 30 years ago. His total downfall was ice cream. So to start with I included into his eating program one scoop of Baskin Robins ice cream every single day— without fail. No excuses. The nearest store was two miles away and he had to walk it. After four months he called and asked if he couldn’t spend those calories on something else— he was so sick of ice cream. He lost about 50 lb. and to this day has never regained it.

I think after achieving this goals, you can choose harder goals because you will know you can do

Thanks, Kenna. What a great success story! I wish I could include a limited portion of "off-WOE" foods in my plan, but it seems like I do better with an all or nothing mentality. If I have ONE bad thing, I want every other bad thing I can get my hands (or mouth) on! Glad your guy was so successful! Thanks for sharing!

The one thing I have learned in all the years of doing this is that deprivation does not work. The FORBIDDEN is magical. Learning to take control is a hard learn for some, but when you do—- the world is yours.

Debbie, the problem with the all/nothing plan is that there is nothing and then there is all and you are right back where you started. Yo-yo dieting. You have made progress recently and I’m so glad to see you in a better place. Keep it up.
