I've been using my home issues as an excuse to over eat and to pass on the gym. The guilt is tremendous. I hate this, if I go to the gym and spend on the proper foods I'm made to feel selfish and self-centered. When I don't go I feel guilty and cheated...😱😱😱 I'm plugging along the best I can to fulfill my home duties and yet trying not to cheat myself out of the person I want, no, the person I need to be. Have a healthy day 🙋.
190.5 lb Lost so far: 39.5 lb.    Still to go: 5.5 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Yeah, there are things that are difficult to balance. Sometimes we have to make compromises and be happy with that. Hope you have a good day!

Awe ❤️ try to find a balance. Your health and well being matter and make for a better you in the home. I understand though it’s the reason I don’t have a gym membership but it’s my own guilt about being away from the family but now that our youngest is 6 I may consider it. Plus I work 13 hour shifts. So that’s 2 days I’m just not really home.

YouTube...a great alternative to the gym. It's also fun to work out outside - perhaps on patio or balcony or park.

Are there physical activities that you both enjoy doing? Like walking an intermediate trail, swimming, biking....

dont give up or cause yourself guilt! I struggle VERY much to eat healthy when at home - especially at night, I will go all day healthy and at home I just fall apart and really struggle to workout also - I want to work out at home, but I think I need to leave the house to do fitness, even if its a bike ride or walk around the block

If it would help, you do not have to go to a gym in order to “exercise”. You can easily do it at home. Walk, watch recorded TV exercise program, buy some hand weights from the GoodWill, Dance to the radio.. Not being able to get to the gym is yet just one more excuse for not consistently doing physical activity.

The only people who are self centered and selfish in this scenario are the ones who are trying to make you feel self centered and selfish. If you didn't try to take care of yourself, that would be self centered and selfish. These people either need to be supportive, or just shut up.

@Buttercup...fighting for more autonomy in a relationship can be tricky sometimes, especially if things have been a certain way. I have a partner who supports my healthy lifestyle efforts, makes me feel beautiful, but when it comes to other things...he can be stubborn, fussy, and bossy...completely unmovable. @Alnona...what works for me is to simply keep doing me if I know that it is something that isn't that major/life changing. Fussing goes in one ear and out the other. Sometimes, you do have to get creative and find a win-win. I don't believe in compromise - it implies everyone loses something. Perhaps start working out at home or try to find a way for him to participate. I have yoga once a month for an hour on Sundays. Initially, he would say things like "I guess this means I have to find something to do at that time too". In other words, "I don't want to feel like I am waiting on you" or "I don't want to look like I am being unproductive while you are". Or insinuate I am wasting money. That went on for several months....I am still taking yoga and he has stopped commenting. I also practice at home which peeks his curiosity and he ask questions. Even tried to do some yoga moves one day (he is a stiff guy so it was kind of funny). Of course afterwards, he thought he was a yoga expert and thought he could teach me...smh...lol

a person must take care of themself First.... everyone else second. to test this theory, ask your significant other Who's needs they are looking out for when criticizing your life choices.....😉
