THE OBESITY CODE..good tuesday morning..been listening to audiobook..very good ..learning alot..calories in...calories out..isnt how it works..less calories doesnt cause the loss of weight..its more complex then that..more calories as long as they are high fat..less carbs..will work..body is smarter then most of us give it credit for..for me i ride a bike almost everyday..my thinking was calories in..calories out would get my weight off..which when i first started working off the weight..worked..now from listening to the audiobook..im learning that eating more calories..high fat..low carb..will reset my body to start burning off more calories..so been going thru menu once again an trying to tweak it..just the opposite of last week...its hard for me to grasp..as i would think the opposite would be true..

its raining here today..well it did most of the night..so be riding on zwift today...didnt feel like getting on trainer this morning..so not sure if its gonna be a later in the day ride...or...a day off..one of them days of not being in the mood...but knowing that i need to ride just to keep limbered up ...

HAVE A GREATTTTTTTTTTTTTT DAY...

Fung....is a quack looking to make a buck. He's good at spreading his theories which are not backed by any actual science. Here is just another Taubes. Examine.com is a great site that has many scientific peer-reviewed studies backing its info. Look for the scientifically backed studies, before committing to a weight loss strategy.

I'll get plenty of flack on this site for that post as he has many followers on this site, just like Taubes does. Everyone will go with what they believe in but I prefer to search out the studies based on science instead of theories. There used to be theories that fat was how we got fat, now carbs are getting a bad rap. Carbs cause water retention, this is true which will affect scale weight, too bad too many people rely on the scale to measure progress when it should actually be more on measurements, how your clothes fit, and the mirror. I haven't lost a lb. on the scale in weeks yet am getting compliments on my appearance and can see a definite change in my body as I am regaining some lost muscle. I'm going off on a tangent, but definitely check out that site, a lot of good info with dozens of references per topic.

@Diablo360x - your name's not Ollie is it? You sound a lot like him. The problem I have with examine.com is that all the scientifically backed studies are very old. Times move on ...

im not here to start a war on food or programs that will work for me...im just here journaling what im willing to try to see if it works for me...i cant eat all the sugar an carbs you do diablo..if i do...then i waddle to the store..my body doesnt burn it off like yours does..my hats off to you for being able to eat like that an stay fit..for me..i have to figure it out still...yes my clothes are loose...yes people notice..but i want more..being a big frame person with flab around my belt is what im working on...being fit is what is important to me..no the scales arent always gonna show me what i want to see in improvements...i know all of that..most of what ive listened to is old information..but never hurts to relearn what you already know...thank you all for the support an the info...

LOL @Doobrie. I was just thinking the same thing. Didn't Ollie get booted off FatSecret? Several times?

Ok, stick with your belief that calories aren't calories and that somehow other peoples bodies burn calories from different sources differently. I was there at one point. Glad to know the truth now. Good luck.

Also, I've been here much longer than when Ollie first appeared and probably many of you. Funny that science is disregarded on this forum. It's the only one stuck in the low carb keto bubble. Myfitnesspal and bodybuilding.com among many others are not stuck in these low carb dark ages.

1000% Diablo. Eat fibreous carbs. You'll get full and still lose weight. (Lentils, legumes, beans, etc). They are cheap and still have tons of nutrients.

Some of us are not vegans and don't appreciate others forcing their way of eating onto us. Please don't hijack this nice man's journal. He has lost a ton of weight already ... and this advice ... isn't good advice to his issues.
