2nd Journal Entry: Ok, this Fitbit thing has taken over my MIND! It's a wicked lot of fun (as they say in the North!). If knowledge is power, than this thing is making me STRONG! It's just neat to be able to see the spurts in your day, doing laundry, grocery shopping, going to the gym... exactly what that is doing to my overall activity level during the day.

Being the goal oriented person that I am... it is really hard to know you are w/in several hundred more steps of your next BIG achievement, and not want to get up and walk around the house until you get there! LOL!!!

Right now I am at aprox 9200 for the day... and shooting for 10,000 before the day is out! (Even if I have to walk in place til I get there!) ;)

I am trying to remember to record my foods HERE... and then just enter them as Bkfst, lunch, dinner, or snack... and a calorie total ... so it can keep track of that too. Then I don't have to enter the foods twice. (thanks DI!!!)

Also, I found Bren, Stef, and Di and added each of you as friends. (you show up on stef's friends list...so I just went for it.)

My day was great today... I don't understand the 'Calorie' counter thingy on Fitbit... it seems to think I can still eat way more calories for the day than is reasonable??? STEF - can you help me if you see this!!! Thanks!

Ok, going to figure out my food info... and call it a night. Need to spend sometime w/ hubby. He is interested in whether this thing will record 'sheet music' activity! (wink! wink!) No idea where I'm gonna clip this bad boy ... but I'll figure something out! LOL!

Much Love.

Hi, I will check into the FitBit soon too. It might get me up and moving and going out more often...

You go girl! Get those 10,000 steps in each day! I have been procrastinating about getting a fitbit. It's on my list of 'Wants' and I haven't gotten to that item yet! :)

Sounds like you're having a BLAST with the Fitbit. I'm curious to try one, but they're not readily available in Denmark. I'll probably have to import at some point. Just waiting to find the dineros, and the right place to shop. :)

Obsession with exercise is hardly a bad thing.

My thoughts exactly!!! This was just the boost I needed to keep this from getting tooooooo boring while trying to lose these last 5 lbs. I have known for the past year I needed to ramp up my efforts in the exercise dept to make this happen..but was reluctant. (lazy I guess!) But this has brought out a true 'desire' to make this thing happen! And the positive feedback, seeing it happen in real time... it's kinda fun!

WTG on your new FitBit. Doubt I will get one for a while. I have a pedometer I need a battery for. Maybe this will help... but how is this thing motivating you? 10,000 steps a day is awesome! Good luck on that.
