I have cabin fever.. haven't been to the gym since Wednesday. The issue with my lower back has had me on edge and Im worried about over doing it and DH was really worried too so I just didn't go.. I feel like maybe I should have at least walked some. Anyway, not crying over spilled milk.. Monday is right around the corner and the lower back pain is pretty much gone so I plan to hit it nice and early tomorrow. I also noticed that I am crankier when I dont work out, and Im more tired thru out the day when I dont wake up extra early.. I def feel 1000x better when I work out. So lesson learned this week : I need exercise in my life and I should add in some yoga or more stretching. Diet is on track for the most part and Ive weened myself off the bananas LOL .. OMG what a week. Glad its over and ready for the next one! We got this!!

Exercise makes me happy and I can really tell the difference in my mood if I go more than two days without it so I try NOT to!

You can still work out your upper body and legs without stressing your lower back. I'm addicted to exercise, my drug of choice :)

You really shouldn't stress over working out . Always remember to listen to your body,, if its saying to rest then you need to rest . You really don't want a back injury to turn into something that could last a long time,, its not worth messing with ,, seriously . and thew stress of it only causes more problems,, Listen to DH !!!

soak a wash cloth in rubbing alcohol place on lower back and put plastic over it (slow down evaporation) place towel over to catch body heat. alcohol will relax muscles and make it feel better.. then Ice on and off for 20 minutes each. NO HEAT it contributes to inflammation.

NO HEAT!!!! also need Tylenol and ibuprofen. They are designed to work together. Start with either. take as directed. Two hours later take the other. while one is peaking the other is dropping and will get you good pain coverage. I'm only a Respiratory Therapist but I use this myself my favorite E.R. doc. told me how to do this and it is safe for short periods of time
