Question: Does anyone count calories of their supplements?

I count calories in my protein powder, but I also take a handful of vitamins, minerals, and herbs in the morning and evening. Should I be logging these?

I haven't worried about it, because I usually have some calories left at the end of the day, and I doubt my supplements are more calories than I have left over.

Thoughts? Ideas? Experience? tia!

I take a handful of gummy supplements daily that add up to around 65-100 calories. I don’t log them.

I usually purchase sugar free supplements.

I count them because they add a carb to my nutrients.

I don’t count them. I know I probably should but most of mine don’t have a significant amt of calories. I did notice my fiber gummies are kind of high in carbs but then you deduct fiber amt so I don’t even bother recording it.

I count them cause I want to know the exact amount of daily intake i had but it’s not a must.

I try to just leave a bit of room in my plan and don’t count small things like that. I don’t want to get into a place where I’m obsessing and creating a disordered eating plan, and I also want to make this sustainable over the long term.

I don't do many supplements, and those that I do take have an insinsignificant effect on my numbers. So, my answer is no...

mm.. interesting... I never really considered counting mine. Maybe I should since I usually do gummy supplements and I'm sure they add up.

Great insight. Thanks, everyone for your thoughts! I think for now, I'll continue not to log. If I'm not losing and need to micromanage, I'll start then. 😊

Don’t overthink this

I take quite a few suppliments. I didn't see a calorie count on any of the bottles. I've never counted them, and I don't think they are enough to matter.

I count mine

I think those calories are so low, prob insignificant. But, the gummy vitamins are about 20 calories for 2, if I remember right. So it might depend on the supplements you take.

I take collagen peptides and they have a calorie count of 45, so that is significant enough for me to count it. It also has an 11g protein count. Protein powders definitely will have calories. Vitamins & minerals won't have calories, but some of the fish oil capsules have about 15 calories.

I don't count them but I will count everything else.

I do not

my nutritionist told me to only count protien powder and bars. Vitamin supplements don't have very many calories to count.

It all depends on what supplements you are taking. Fish oil usually has about 30 calories per serving and most of the gummy vitamins have some calories. If you aren’t losing, then I would fine tune things, but if what you are doing now is working keep going with it.
