Fasting didnt work..ALOT of stress gave me ALOT of poundage...Our adult son got an infection in his toe, terrible Hospital made it worse..he had to go to another & by then he had gangrene & had to have half of his big toe amputated..He wont be working for over a month..Our other adult son who bought a home with his fiance found out shes been cheating on him, so he left her and moved back in with us..my small house is a mess right now, and my Grandaughter whos 24 and engaged with a 3 yr old, decided it was a good thing to CHEAT on her fiance who I adore...wth is wrong with this world today?? and I took all this out on myself..I feel like crap, gained idk maybe 6-7 more lbs, look like crap..Not gonna take it no more..I have to do something...I do 99% of the work here at the house, cook clean for 2 men now and 3 dogs and I'll be 66 in July..I'm 5'2 and likey weigh 215? I dont know I havent stepped on the scale yet but will..So I guess I better start loving myself today..Im off here to cut my hair, it looks terrible..shower all the sadness, drama off and then get my fat ass back on this damn treadmill!

I'm sorry to hear you are under so much stress, and none of it has anything to do with you. It's a shame you are caught up in all this drama and no wonder it affects you physically as well. I was intermittent fasting for 8 months (6/18). After doing research I found out that fasting does not aid in weight loss, only as a calorie deficit. There were several scientific tests that show that the time of eating doesn't matter. So maybe unburden yourself from that restriction and just focus on calorie intake to take back control of you weight. And going to the Salon to take care of yourself sounds like a great first step, be proud and keep at it!

The stresses of the day can be (are) overwhelming. I try always to say my morning prayers before I let any person into my space. Just me and God.

Stress wreaks havoc on the body! Make them do chores or out they go! Only fair if they are contributing to the messes. Walking is an easy cardio and helps me relieve stress, especially exposure to the sun while doing it. Prayers!

Im so sorry your family is struggling...None of this is your fault!! Why, dont go and punish yourself! Its so tough to see family struggle... Sounds like you are frustrated by your food response to stress... i have binge eating disorder, and we have to learn to separate the bridge between food and mood!! Eating when not shressed has helps me cope tremendously. A big tip that helped me: Have a list prepared (taped on the fridge/cabinet) of alternative things to do in moments of stress, instead of eating. My example list: tin6gs like -watch a movie w/o snacks -crochet -listen to music -read a bok -exercise/ treadmill/walk outside -write a letter to whatever is stressing you out and then rip it up/throw it away -most importantly : GET OUTTA THE KITCHEN DURING STRESSFUL MOMENTS When your stress subsides, if you are hungry- eat things like cheese, nuts, DARK CHOCO, beef jerky... full fat and protein instead of high carb snacks because the high carb will usually exacerbate hunger, whereas fat/protein will be more satiating... Its tough with emotional eating problems. Stress, cortisol, weight gain are toxic best friends and we gotta break em up, girl. Hope this helps you moving forward. yep your right..I dont eat a whole lot..I get stressed and go for alot of crackers & milk or cereal..I eat after supper in the evenings when hubby goes to wor..so Im gonna NOT eat like that anymore..nothing after supper..at almost 66 my metabolisum is nothing..lol yep I got walnuts salad, avocados, and turkey today..ty so much for your advice!
