I need to work on recording my food. I usually get my breakfast down, but that's it. Honestly, I just don't think about it during the day. I'm really going to make an effort though to keep track of all my food.

You'll be amazed how much more aware it will make you when you can get into the habit. Sometimes if know what I'm going to have for lunch (like packing it for work in the morning) or dinner I'll just log it ahead of time.

I always plan my whole day ahead and record it. Then eat what I plan. If there is a change (not often) then I record that. With our budget, we're not open to sudden eating out. It really helps both the meal planning and sticking to my food plan.

Like Woper, many record ahead of time. Me,,, I wing it. Decide at the last minute what I'm going to cook or make then log it in. But it does become a ritual. After each meal, I'm sitting here putting in my "numbers".

I am definitely big on logging most of my food in the morning. Usually I log breakfast, lunch, and any snacks I plan on having during the workday. If I know ahead of time what I'm doing (or plan on doing) for dinner, I will log that as well. If anything changes I always just go back and change it!

Once you get used to logging everything it becomes habit. I use the food logger to plan my day's eating, often logging ahead of time as a plan and then changing it later if I end up eating differently. But knowing partway through the day what you've eaten and what you have available in calories/nutrients is very helpful to keeping on track.

i do the same sometimes, but try to remember best I can. it is really an eyeopener. I am recording but am eating way too many calories than I should but it makes me think about what I am doing instead of being mindless about what goes in my mouth. It is amazing to me that being away from FS for 3 months but on it for 2 years, how much my old habits creeped back in.

On Fridays I plan what I am going to make for dinner for the entire week. Then every morning I log what I am going to eat for the day. It's easier for me that way. But I like to plan and stick to schedules. And it really makes a difference to see how many calories I am going to eat before I even eat them.

if you have an I-phone I use the notes to track things through the day. If your like me, you will have your phone with you at all times. I Even put shopping lists in my notes so that I never go to the grocery store without my list, so many times I would do a list and then walk out the door and the list stay on the kitchen counter! I find my lists help ensure that I never forget to pick up the items I need so that I don't fall off my diet!

Every evening I log everything I'm going to eat the next day. Then I know what my menu is and it's easier to stay on track.

Ideally I like to plan a months menu in advance & grocery shop once, going back when needed for perishables. That way I know I have whatever I want to eat around when I get hungry. It also tends to calm me knowing that I dont need to worry about what Im going to eat & will it be healthy :) However that isnt always the way I get to do it. For the times I dont get to plan like this I use my phone ap to help keep me in my RDI or make the least harmful choice. A notepad would work at remembering what you ate as well as the amts you ate if you & then just add it to fatsecret that evening. Of course, this way we are more apt to go over our RDI,thats why I like to plan it monthly or even weekly.

It helps me pay attention to staying on track. I try to log my breakfast and lunch on my break at work, if I forget to do dinner and any missed snacks, I'll enter it in the morning while i'm vegging over my coffee.

Jackie, try whole non processed homemade foods, fruit or veggies instead of processed weight watchers bars and brownies, eliminate the chips.
