Yesterday afternoon, I sat down in front of the computer and created an hour play list of all of my husbands favorite songs. I knew that when he came in from work he would be hungry and tired, so I made him his favorite meal, which is breakfast. For him I made sausage, gravy, biscuits, home fries and fried eggs, for me, just sausage, bacon and eggs. I fed him when he came in, then I started the play list and we danced all around the kitchen, through the living room and then out onto the front porch. It was a beautiful clear night with no moon and the stars put on a dazzling display. When the songs ended we snuggled down on the steps and watched the sky through binoculars, we saw a couple of shooting stars then we got cold and went inside. Instead of turning on the TV, we curled up on the bed and he ate a bowl of cereal while I munched on some cashews and we talked about the past, the present and the future. At 8:45 we started prepping for bed because 4:30 comes real early. I had a great evening and I don't think that it would have been better going out for a fancy dinner and a show. After 29 years, the simple comfort of home and the undivided attention of the one you love is everything!
