timetodropthelbs's Journal, 26 January 2022

Switched my mindset from wanting quick results to being satisfied with getting in better shape and slowly losing weight. I'm targeting a pound a week. I feel so much more relaxed and not so negative towards myself when I have the inevitable daily ups and downs. And, I've lost 4.8 pounds since December 31st so the plan is working. I'm finally trying to be the turtle instead of the hare.

That is what everyone keeps stating ... Turtle pace is the best - it gives your body and your inner organs time to move around and reroute - and your mind time to adapt to the change. Good for you and I will try to follow the same mindset.

This is a healthier way of losing weight too! People who lose weight slowly also tend to stick to this new way of eating longer, eventually making it part of their lifestyle. Great job !!! 😊

I just noticed that the weight loss I quoted in my original post was from December 20th until yesterday, not December 31st. Not that it matters all that much but still want to correct the error. I'm down another smidgen today and celebrating. That's another good thing about losing weight slowly, each .2 or .4 pound change is a substantial portion of meeting my goal for the week so the whole process becomes more celebratory. 🎉
