Densible's Journal, 31 March 2009

My weight is swinging in 5lb arcs. It's driving me batty. I am not recording until I hit a trend-one way or the other.

We decided to try to go away for 2 nights with the beast and board the cat while our house is tented. Trying to rent a house in Cambria that takes dogs. There used to be loads and now, not so much. My beloved Leonard Cohen is playing that weekend though-so we may stay locally so I can go see him.

Still freakin' busy but feeling very grateful and tired. Awoke at 4am this morning-got up at 6-I had to wait for the sky to lighten so it felt more like morning. I had tons of energy-took Beast out for a walk/run/lunge. The look on his face! The beach was beautiful and quiet except for the valley ball training. If I could have any body type it would be the lithe, long frame of a volleyball player. Also did some weights and my usual push up/leg lifts/sit ups.

I am trying mightily to get the sugar out of my house and out of my system. Doing a bit better-thanks to my stepson who came home on his way to Germany and hid or threw all the candy out. I spend a few minutes every day on a search and destroy mission-so far no luck. He is a much better secreter than his father. I love him and hate him for it!!

Well back to the salt mines for me!

Hope all is well with my fellow comrades.

Those wee winged harbingers of destructions TERMITES!!!! Yes I live very close to the beach-took me 30 years to inch my way from the Valley, to Hollywood, West LA until I am on the edge of the Continent. I do love it.

He definitely earned that name veggies. His given name is Otis but after he destroyed our stereo-literally eating it and most of our CD collection-silver wrapped poop for days!, getting into the pool, opening the child proof chlorine dispenser-spilling chlorine tabs onto the bottom of the pool where they burned right through the brand new plaster, eating the oleander bush and almost dying, getting a foxtail in his nose requiring surgical removal, and jumping through a CLOSED window all in the first year of his life, we started calling him the beast. He does not do that stuff anymore but is still highly energetic, protective, territorial, too smart for his own good and likes to bite first and ask questions later. He is a big baby and I love him but it took some work to get there and we have to maintain constant surveillance. LOL!

I have to rent that film. I watch the Dog Whisperer religiously-I tried to get an appt with Caesar Milan back in the day before he had the show and he refused to see us. I have never seen a dog on that show that gets even close to the beast. I wonder if Marley was a worse case? I saw the tv spot when he jumps out of the car and thought "is that the best you've got?" Been there done that!

having a pet, specially a dog is always an adventure, specially with one like the "beast"...does he still go swimming with you? looks like you are getting busy. Keep up the exercise and your determination, you will get where you want to be for sure.

Hello stranger-I miss-seeing! He does love to swim-goes in by himself too. He comes into the house soaking wet and opens the shower door and lies in the cube until he is fairly dry. I did not tell him to do it-he just figured it out himself. I am swamped!!! but grateful for the work. Just wish the rest of my life was non-eventful. I "forgot" to pay the electricity bill this morning and they switched it off. Not good when running a business from home. I was lucky I caught the guy outside and wrote him a check on the spot. Amazing-what if the bill was unpaid because I could not afford it? People are mean!
