This is for Fritzy 22's

I would feel 'hangry' and unsatiated all the time drinking my calories instead of chewing them.

Yeah, I need to chew things or my brain doesn't believe I ate. And if it's crunchy, that's even better. It's a weird thing, but I've been assured I'm not alone in this.

Thanks for putting this out there for me! It's interesting. I couldn't eat as much fruit and vegetables as shown in the first menu and I'm not sure about 3 servings on non fat milk in the 2nd. Although I have a mug of hot chocolate every morning (don't drink coffee) and it has 12 ounces of skim milk. So on those days I have a 2nd mug later in the day to fill me up that's 24 ounces total. It doesn't upset my stomach.

I agree liz-andra. I make jerky and pemican for that. A little goes a long way.

Fritzy 22, I have huge bowl of chopped up mixed vegies in my fridge, at the ready, in case I need to eat to feel full. I am eating similar to that 1st menu each day, but just to 750-1000 calories per day. I do not get hungry at all. I got the second menu from one or two of your history days, can't remember what ones. I just noticed lots of liquids, very little solid food. I don't see your journals and did not know you had an issue with inflammation. That makes things more challenging. Maybe I clicked on one or two of your days after your gall bladder surgery! Best of luck to you. It is a struggle.

The first one is similar to what I did when I would make stir fry. I would usually have chicken breast or sometimes shrimp in it. But I would put in onions, mushrooms, celery, brussels sprouts and broccoli. Sometimes I added bean sprouts and spinach. I don't think I could eat 3 servings of fruit. Both of your examples have mostly things I like (even love like cran grape juice). I just can't eat large quantities of veggies for very long. I loved the stir frys but got sick of them after about 6 weeks. I ate a pretty much liquid diet for the first several days after gallbladder surgery. So there was a frozen juice bar every day and juice. Then I did a bland diet for about 2 weeks. White rice, chicken noodle soup, saltine crackers. Now I'm healed from surgery. I thought a low fat diet would be necessary. I've heard so many people who have chronic diarrhea or irriable bowel syndrome after the surgery. But now that it's been over a month, I can eat anything with no problem. I had fish and chips last week when on the coast. And a cheeseburger, and Chinese food. Now that I am home I am trying to be good. Wishing you luck too. I am now following you

I am on the wait list for gall bladder surgery right now. I could get the call any day or in the next few weeks with the operation date. Surgeon in Nanaimo said the more weight I can loose before the surgery the better, because, if there is too much fat in the way, they will have to abandon the laparoscopic incisions and cut me open the old fashioned way. And then it becomes overnight in the hospital instead of me going home the same day. I have avoided fat since I had the last gall stone attack in early June. It was reduced calories that triggered last attack...real Catch 22 situation.

Good luck with that surgery. I had mine out about 20 years ago laparoscopically. I have to watch the amount of fat I eat in any meal now, although if I take digestive enzymes, it doesn't seem to matter.

deelbee - I didn't have any problem with the laparoscopic surgery and there is alot of fat on my body! I put the surgery off for over a year and then started having "attacks" after eating almost anything. Once in the morning after having a piece of toast and a cup of tea. My gastroenterologist then told me to have the surgery before an emergency happened. I didn't have gallstones. I have a picture the surgeon gave me, one big giant boulder! Hope you can have the surgery soon and that you can have laparascopic surgery. I am a worrying and had never had surgery. I was expecting the recovery to take longer and to be in pain for awhile. I didn't have much pain, just the first 2 days and only when getting in and out of bed or on and off the sofa. Then just sore for a couple days and after about 5 days I felt good as new! Keep us posted.

Weird thing is avoiding fat in itself can lead to gall stones. My ex had the laparoscopic surgery and it was a piece of cake. Both very simple procedures just one leaves a bigger scar. Good luck.

Thanks, good to know that both types of surgery can be a piece of cake recovery-wise. The surgeon did a cat scan to confirm that gall stones were causing my pain, and his exact words were "you are chock-a-block full of gall stones".
