Thursday, January 29, 2009 -- so far not a great diet day! I have not done my treadmill today, and that itchy, allergic feeling I get is making me munch all day long! I went to the market today, and I wanted to buy everything. I even bought myself a piece of chocolate and ate it on my way home from the market. I'm going to try to go on the treadmill now; but I just feel that my resolve is gone for today. I feel like I've already decided that I'm going to eat too much tonight. I bought salad. I'm hoping that that helps, and water. But I just feel itchy-hungry, if that makes sense.

Update: I am not going to record my entire day of eating. Let's just say I ate way too much! I stopped counting, so I don't know how much it is. But it was mostly healthy stuff, except for a little Benocol and chocolate syrup. It wasn't like Sunday where I had cheesecake. But it was pretty bad!

Can you take an everyday allergy medicine? My son had to take one years ago when we were having some issues with his food allergies. They had him on Allegra and Rhinocort (nose spray). The way the doctor explained it to me is that your body knows that something is wrong, and it can make you feel irratible, hungry, sleepy, etc.

I am 66 and I know about itchy. It is because we are lacking the homones we need to relieve that. Skin that is so dry it flakes. Life happens, we have to find ways to make it easier! I try to get olive oil in my body everyday but did not today as I sit here feeling like I have moving insects on my body, itchy, itchy. I use very lubricated lotions and all body products are unscented or at least as unscented as possible. Unscented shampoos, body washes also help, they are hard to find but they are out there. I skip the long soaks in the tub in the winter, it is too hard on my skin. I keep the water as cool as I can stand while in the shower, not to where it is cold and uncomfortable, probably little warmer than room temperature, that helps. Come summer I will go back to my beloved hot showers and soaks. Hope this helps. :-)

I hope your salad helped get you focused. No need to write off the whole day! Good luck getting rid of the itchy/hungry feeling!

Debbra, were you hungry when you went to the market? You should never ever go to the market when you're hungry or you'll want to buy everything! : ) Next time, make a list and stick to it!

Thanks for all your suggestions, guys! I feel like today is lost. I'm hoping to mitigate the potential damage, and I'll make sure to be much better tomorrow. I keep thinking that my biggest weakness is carbs and that I should try to avoid them. (I say that as I'm sitting here eating cereal. At least it's Fiber One. LOL!) A few years ago I avoided carbs (for the most part), and I lost a lot of weight. Does anyone else feel that carbs are like their heroin?

I did half an hour on the treadmill just now. I'm going to do some more. Is anyone doing, or has anyone done the Core diet plan on WW? What was your experience?
