Just finished my latest book....My Grandmother asked me to tell you she's sorry by Fredrik Backman. It was one of our bookclub picks. It was different than one I might normally choose but so heartwarming!
Our neighbors invited us to join them by the river for a visit today. It was warmish....low 60s. We brought a bottle of champagne 🍾 since we had not opened either of the 2 we bought yet to toast the New Year. It was nice seeing each other cause we have not gotten together in awhile.
My nieces are arranging a girl's getaway in 3 weeks to Ashville, N.C. My sister's anniversary & birthday both fall in January so they thought it would be a good time to get her away. My other 2 sisters are joining as well. One of them is also having a Jan.. birthday.. We're staying at an AirBNB.
I started out the year at just .4 lbs. over my lowest weight I hit since I started in July 2019. January 1st 2020 I was at 152 lbs. January 1st 2021 I was at 140.8....11.2 lbs. less 😊 I'm feeling pretty positive about being able to maintain at or below goal even though I allowed myself a lot of flexibility between Thanksgiving & New Years to eat treats & meals not in my normal WOE. Of course, I don't ban any foods from my diet....I just try to eat in moderation. For the past week I haven't been in the mood to eat as much, so have actually kept my calories lower than I had been. That resulted in the loss of my couple of pounds "Holiday Weight".
I hadn't been very good about getting out for a walk for the past week. I only walked one day but we did walk today. I do plan to get back to my routine.
I need to decide what dinner is going to be. I have some leftover porkchops (I froze 2 meals & left one in the fridge) and a kale salad. I have a Flatiron steak, too I haven't put on the menu. Guess I'll see how hungry Hubby feels and what he's in the mood for.
