melmi20's Journal, 06 September 2010

Well, I'm pretty much at the same place as last week. A few things could've gone wrong with my experiment:

1. I didn't really keep my daily intake at 1374 as I had planned, some days this past week it crept up a little higher, as much as 1700. Which I think normally would be fine if I didn't have a spike day already.

2. I ate out about four times this past week and that always means extra sodium....major water retention possibilites

3. I did cardio 3x this week, but only weight trained once...I missed out on burning major calories.

4. I'm not completely sure I'm doing everything right! LOL I've pre-ordered Russell's book and it won't be shipped until early October (I think). So, for now, I'll just have to follow his blogs and see how to continue.

The plus side: I didn't gain and was able to maintain even when eating a crazy amount of calories on one day.

Here's to this next week...I'm cooking everything I eat this time and making sure to get in the right amount of calories and exercise. Hopefully it will prove more successful this time around. :-)

Have a great week buddies!

I find doing cardio burns more calories than when i weight train :) but I suppose it's different for everybody. Or....... did you mean you usually do weights as well but didnt this week ? But take it week by week, and then you can only get one week behind at any one time., and one week is nothing to catch up on really. Plus you didn't gain so that's a bonus, keep it up I know it's hard but it's dam fun trying :)

Yup, that's exactly what I meant. I normally add weight training to my cardio. Thanks for the encouragement! :-)

The plus side is a great side. I have learned to not get too upset when I don't lose..as long as I don't gain I am stoked. I am actually considering not going out at all for the rest of the month. I am much better about my calories when I prepare my food myself.

Hello love, I am glad you are trying this out. I will be right behind you in October. After this cleanse I don't think my body can handle drastic jumps in calories. I am going to retrain for equal calories to get my metabolism reved back up after this cleanse then start with Zig Zag in October. I am pretty excited even if you only maintained for a week that is great news for once we are in the phase knowing you wont gain if you have a spike day and off your calories a little. I am excited to see how it works for you in the coming weeks. I have three more days although depending on how I feel I may shoot for another one or two depending on how much maple syrup I have left. I want that bottle gone from my house never to be seen again....at least for 6-8 months when I do the cleanse again. Keep it up lady. Remember Maintain is WAY better than Gain. :-) Yep I just made that up.

Like everyone is saying, maintain is better than a gain! = ) I had my spike day yesterday so I'm really just starting my week to see how things go. Give it a couple more weeks & tweek here & there. Eating out definitely has an effect. Who knows, you may very well work out all the buys before Russell's book comes = p Hope you had a great weekend hun!
