Dear Scale,
It's Day 2 without you. Has it really been so short a time? It seems like it's been longer. I almost caved and came to see you this morning but I didn't. I stayed strong. Tonight.. I'm going to throw you in a closet. I hope you understand. One of these mornings I'm going to walk into the bathroom in a sleep induced haze and I could accidently visit you when I'm trying not to. The closet is nice. It's full of fluffy towels, TP, and miscellaneous crap that no longer fits under the sink. It's not a dark hole.. it's a relaxing vacation spot.
I've successfully eaten well for 1 and a half days. I need to know if you will tell me good job or go back to the drawing board. I even went walking today at lunch so I will know you'll congratulate me when you see me again. Tonight I think I might take the kiddos for a walk down behind the barn. Not seeing you is making me paranoid. Did it go up? Did it stay the same? Did it actually go down?!?!?! I need to stay strong and I hope you understand. I will see you again in 29 and a half days.

When you start counting down the hours, then I'll worry.

It's official - my husband is psychic! For several months now my scale has been on the chair in the laundry room beneath the latest load of clothes to be folded; I join this challenge and now HE wants the scale in HIS bathroom so he can weigh (that I happen to go to at least 1-2 times a day - it's where I peek on my birds so they don't fly away by me opening the back door.) Now the Sunbeam is THERE. I asked if he weighed yesterday? No. Today? No. I think I'm going to coat it with flour and if I don't see big footprints in the morning I'm going to put it back in the laundry room. I don't need that stupid pile of nuts & bolts just sitting there taunting me. Scale either.

Love your letter! This morning I wanted my scale to tell me it was ok that I had pizza last night for supper. . . .it wouldn't without me standing on it, so I stuck it in the closet, sounds like the same vacation spot yours is going. However, not knowing, I counted out my calories for today and I'll be under 1500. Now I just can't lick the beaters when I'm making hubbies birthday cake tonight. Thank God the kids will be there to do it for me!! Bella, I like the flour idea, how dare he taunt you like that!

while reading your journal, I kept having flashbacks of the commercial "parkay, Butter,,....... Parkay.... BUTTER" , you, scale, you, scale. soon you will hear the scale talking in a muffled voice from under the towels, behind the TP, SCALE!
