Kenna Morton's Journal, 14 August 2019

I have lost about 6 people in my world to diabesity related issues. So I go to the gym this morning and was told that one of our older members had died of a probable stroke. Non-compliant type2 Diabetic and obese. I had just gotten home and got a call from an old workmate that another of our group had a heart attack or stroke yesterday afternoon and died. We all just had lunch together YESTERDAY. She had eaten a large meal with pie and ordered a whole pie to take home. She was also a non compliant diabetic and very overweight. She was most noted for her phrase— “oh I know I’m bad, but I love to eat. I hope she is someplace where she can happily eat all day everyday for eternity. There is just nothing the rest of us can do but sit and sadly watch it all go down. Well, I’m now up to eight people in less than 2 years. Diabesity at its best.

There are no guarantees in life but it is sure worth doing the best you can to enjoy your “golden years”, otherwise, whacks the point. Just taking one breath after another is not living.
