kingkeld's Journal, 24 January 2013

Good morning!

Another brief little journal entry from me - I'm at work. I prefer to type in my journal from there while my laptop is in for repair. I find it so much easier than typing on either the tablet or my little replacement laptop, which has a much smaller keyboard.

I did poorly again yesterday. I think the death of my friend Kenny is still messing with my head, and it's pretty clear to see where I find the comfort. I will do my best to NOT go down that road again today. That's all I can do. Still, I feel that my determination is stronger, and I think I can pull through.

I haven't weighed it - I know it's a horriffic number, and as much as I know the importance of knowing, I don't want it to bum me out right now, as I see myself a little too weak to just get stubborn from it. I would rather do good, and give it a little time.

I had a pleasant experience on the way to work. I go down my town's little shopping street, and one store is open, hours before everything normally opens. It's the local sports shop, and they have a sale starting in less than 10 minutes! There are only two other people outside, and some great early bird sales!

So I get in line and from there I check out what they have.

Well, I go home having spent like 400 dollars! lol. Damn! Still, I hit the mother load! I got winter jackets for Wife and I (a little late, but severely needed) and workout clothes for me, along with a very nice quality sports bag.

I saved more than 800 dollars on the deal! Wow. I think I can me happy with this. We actually talked about needed new jackets less than a week ago, but we didn't want to cash out 1000 dollars on jackets. So here we are, mission accomplished. :)

So, Today I will let Kenny push me in the right direction - eating right and getting up to exercise in the morning - and I will enjoy my new clothing.

Today will be a good day. Even if I didn't sleep much last night. But I'm not gonna bug you with THAT story today.

Today I am thankful for:
- Sales! :)
- Morning coffee!
- A very happy Wife seeing that I got her a jacket unexpected.
- Hopefully a day with not too many surprises.

Life is good!

Awesome Sale!!! I'm a little jealous! When the "Kenny Moments" come, take 5 min if it's available to you, maybe a walk around the hall or building, even tell him what's going on with you. Then tell him you'll miss his involvement, even though you still have his positive influence on you. Allow yourself a few moments to FEEL the missed one, tell him to take care and keep watch, then move back to whatever you must. You can't not remember such a major part of your life here and there, and the void left in his absence. Remember with fondness, maybe recall a time when there was comedy between you, and it'll help. Then take a BIIIG swig of water saying "Damn, that's good cake!" I'm thinking about ya!!
