Good morning!

Happy Friday!

Ahhh... I feel MUCH better today.

1. My friend's passing is a bit better processed. I'm mentally a little more okay with the whole thing.
2. A GREAT night's sleep!
3. I ate just like I'm supposed to yesterday, and that just makes me both happy and physically feel better.

I went to work early - at 6 AM. This way I can leave 2½ hours early - the last 30 minutes essentially being my lunch break.

I skipped gym, but is 100% determined to go straight from work. I've got my clothes packed, and will change before I leave from here. That way I can run to the gym (and warm up that way) and just go do the machines and be done quick. I then hope that Wife can meet me and we'll go have an omelette and a salad.

Sounds like a nice day, huh? It is!

I talked to my bosses yesterday. They want to change my case load a little bit, and have me work on the "faster" cases, those that don't have heavy, complicated case working. I am not educated in that field, but have a lot of other skills that fits the job. This makes me have to work a little harder (and stress a lot more!) with the heavy cases. My strength is in talking with people and aiding the easier cases along swiftly. I am (I believe) one of the really strong ones in this field at my job, and that's where they'd like me to focus.

I can't say I mind. I love the swiftness of the cases. I love meeting new people and help them along. I love "starting over" on a new case over and over. So this is just what I needed. I predict a much more fun work place for me in the near future! Yay! :)

We have no plans (yet) for the weekend. Depending on the weather and finances, we might go to Copenhagen tomorrow. I need a new pedometer - my old one broke.

I'm considering the Fitbit One. It's pricey, but I have read so many positive things about it from all my dear buddies (and the rest of this community), so I am depating if I should just dish out the dough and get a proper one.

I find it interesting that it helps tracking sleep as well... I think I'd like to learn more about my sleep patterns, as this is often an issue for me.

Does anyone have any recommendations when it comes to alternatives to the Fitbit one? Is there something I should be aware of? Please let me know if you think of something.

Today I have a few (fun) cases at work. I have a LONG running case up today. It's a super nice guy with great news. I am actually looking forward to this one.

Another one I will go help get an education. For free. Now, does work get much better than that?

...

I ate just as I'm supposed to yesterday. I had a tiny piece of Wife's Thursday cake, but remained in total control of it. I had sugar free jell-o (last pack! boo!) for my evening dessert. Healthy meals all day, and I ended up having spent 1180 calories of my 1400 allowance.

Tomorrow, if we stay home, I will stick to my 1400 again. If we end up going out to Copenhagen (or somewhere else) I might go over slightly. That's okay - I won't go all crazy.

I still haven't weighed in. To be honest, I'm a little uncomfortable doing it. That number dictates so many things in our heads. I will get there soon though. lol. After the "mourning snack" binge, I just don't want to see a 93 kg weigh in or something. So I am giving it all a few days to settle, a few days to drop some weight again, and a few days to mentally prepare.

I will - WILL - do good, weigh-in or not. Today, I really feel that I am on track again, especially after doing so good yesterday.

Today, I'm thankful for:
- Sleep!
- Going to the gym after work!
- Going to the gym in new (and much improved) workout clothes!
- Going to work early, leaving early.
- Better and easier job in the future!
- Morning Coffee!
- Friday!

Happy Friday - and have a great weekend! Life is good!

Ooooh I shall read all the replies with interest - re your possible fitbit. Glad to hear you are feeling more positive :-). Good move... Not weighing, you don't want to put a damper on your current enthusiasm. Have a great weekend

What a lovely journal entry! I am glad you are feeling so enthused and this has rubbed off onto me for my day as well! I am feeling pretty good too today, and looking forward to the weekend. it looks like plenty of scope for the ice to thaw on Sunday in time for my run; I just might have to get my bum out early so i don't get caught in the rain, but the forcast may change. Hooray for us! :)

I have been looking at monitors and am leaning towards the Jawbone Up bracelet monitor. It's slim and seems to capture everything I need.

Glad you are feeling better today!! I have a body media fit device to track calories burned. It's pretty sleek on the arm band and I got it using a groupon for half price so it was a good deal. It's the one they use on biggest loser. I really liked just about everything about it, and they're working on a smartphone app to go with it apparently. I guess I'm only not using it because you have to pay a monthly fee of like $7 to track on the site, and I have been trying to break my calorie obsession over the last few months. It was VERY eye opening on calories burned though, I saw a huge difference from what FS told me compared to what it gave me on calorie burns for everything except running. I say they are a worth investment for sure!

Glad things are turning around for you, and good luck on the Fitbit thing. I have a cheap freebie pedo I got from work (woot-swag!) but it's a POS and I never use it. it's either way too sensitive or not sensitive enough. Because I'm kind of a half-ass tracker of things like this, I'm happy with my iphone app and the website. Most of the time the calories taken in are right. If my calories burned are off, I'm not as concerned. I still keep within my RDI, so I know I'm on the right track. Since I've always had lower BP, I don't monitor that, miles, etc. I like to compare my stats on the elliptical with hubby, but that's just a mini-competition we always have. I go farther, but he burns more calories. Kinda drives me crazy, but nothing I can do about that, and I'm still losing. Don't worry about the Jello... you'll have new packs soon! Lime??? (wink!) Hugs to you and wifey...

I love my fitbit, King and they now have a bracelet model. It looks pretty cool. Mine is the new Fitbit One. I have been using one for 2 years, and it tracks my steps, flights of stairs, activity level, calories burned, steps, and miles. It is also pretty hardy, with the exception of forgetting I had it on and getting in the pool. Even then, 2 days in a bag of rice, and voila! it was back up and running great! lol Glad things are getting better for you. Have an awesome weekend!

I am looking at the Garmin Foreunner 910XT... Mainly because it tracks swimming, and running ... As well as cycling (triathlete). itis a bit expensive... But is the first one to track swimming and 'dry' activities..... I am hoping I may get one for my birthday next month.
