Welll, guess what today was at work?! YEP, Free Food Friday. How did I do? I think I passed. It was the most dreaded of Free Food Fridays, Pizza Day, because we always get the same thing, Hawaiian and Deluxe Pizzas, Spaghetti and Lasagna baked with Cheese, garlic bread and a Caesar salad. It's not particularly expensive stuff either, so pretty greasy stuff. I COULD have just ate my usual soup and let everyone else eat pizza. but I decided to try a measure of control and had one medium slice of hawaiian pizza (fruits!?) and a litle bit of Caesar salad. No one noticed me eating any less because I ate reeeallllly sloooowwly. :) The nutritionals on fatsecret didn't put me over my Daily allowance at all, even without skipping dinner, but I must admit it was a bit nerve-wracking putting food in my mouth for the first time since starting my new way of eating that I hadn't weighed and recorded first. I'm kind of Type A and like to control things, and knowing what I'm putting in my body is increasingly important to me. I don't like not knowing which ingredients went into making that pizza. How much olive oil? How much tomato sauce? How much flour? I think I'll have to learn to get over it.

On the exercise front, I managed to exercise every day this week. I started the C25K program on monday and finished my third workout this afternoon. I had actually been doing 5 more minutes than what was assigned, as I didn't quite read where it said "20 minutes total" and was excluding the 5 minute warmup from the run. Can't hurt though, right?

I also tried out Jillian Michael's 30 day shred video last night, it was intense! I don't watch Biggest Loser and don't really know much about her to be honest, but reviews were calling her mean and she wasn't at all mean in the Level 1, in my opinion. I want to progress through and the idea is to do the 30 day shred everyday, but I think for at least this first bit, I'll alternate days between the C25K training and the 30 Day Shred training and see how that goes. I'm afraid right now of eating too little and exercising too much, which would probably lead to me wanting to quit the whole process.

I'm feeling better than I have in a year this week, and I really do have everyone here to thank for helping me focus on my goals. :)

Well I guess I miss read the C25K directions as well as I've been doing 25 mins for this first week. Lol. Oh well, I think we're just benefiting from it in the end ; p Great job on the self control & I will tell you it does get a bit easier not knowing (Type A to Type A). But I also really limit how much I eat when I don't know. As for Jillian, she can get mean but I think she only does that on her shows. I don't think she gets mean on her workout dvds. That would be really, really weird. But congrats! You're doing a great job & the way you feel is proving it! = )
