Day 2 of a planned 2 days of ‘water’ fasting
Yesterday I 🏃🏾♂️ ran 3 miles and 🚶🏾♂️ walked for an hour. I only consumed 150 calories of heavy cream in my tea right before bed.
I ‘gained’ a pound 😫
I am sure it is all the water and tea I drank all day, as well as the water retention from inflammation from all the running (17 miles in 3 days - - I plan to not run tomorrow to help with the inflammation issue).
I expect that I will end up around 165lbs by Friday.
For me, this is further evidence that “Calories Out” is the only thing I can trust. I ‘burned’ over 2k in calories yesterday. That ‘energy’ had to come ‘from my body’. Now, during the day, I did not take any ‘Calories In”. Yes, I drank water, but, --water has no calories—However, it does have ‘weight’ It actually has a LOT of weight (“Up to 60% of the human adult body is water” (https://water.usgs.gov/edu/propertyyou.html)).
For me, this is what is true:
• When I lose weight I always have a calorie deficit • When I have a calorie deficit I do not always lose weight
How is this possible? I just proved it yesterday, I am just ‘adding and removing water’. Yes this ‘water weight’ will “WHOOSH” out from time to time, but, it-will-come-back! It has to, I need the water to stay alive.
So, FAT is all that really matters in the long run for me. It is simple, “Reduce Body Fat”.
By fasting and running I “hope” to “force my body to get energy from its fat stores” (because as hard as I try I cannot ‘control’ my body only ‘try’ to make it do certain things).
So, yesterday I ‘hope’ that I actually burned some fat. However, I may have just depleted my glycogen stores. So, today I plan to continue to fast and 🏃🏾♂️ run 5 miles. Hopefully this will force my body to ‘burn fat’.
😎 Life is Good! Have a great day everyone!

Diablo360x Yes all bodybuilders are doped, human body cant sustain that much muscle and if you knew that HPTA is then you knew how it works and then you don't say stupid things making people believe you actually know what Hematocrit is and what role it have in the balance of the endocrine system. There are exceptions like 1 maybe 2 in a million that have endocrine system that can sustain that kind of mass and none of them are bodybuilders. Again you say stupid things cause you don't know what you talking about. Go injecting yourself more and live this community that try to help people lose weight not build muscle and small testicles like you.

Actually someone from my country called Nicolae Constantin Paulescu discover Insulin so i am not from dark ages and people around the world live because of him and his research and further more people around the world come to my country to study medicine, and yet again you mad yourself a fool talking about things you don't know.

@Kirkovm - My main reason for the protein shakes is to avoid going into a 'eating binge'. In the past I would do this every 2-3 days. 'Water fasting' usually works, but 'mentally' I can only do it so many times a month. So, I do not disagree with your logic. However, my decisions are based on working within my limitations :)

@kaylinrenee - I'm not sure, but I 'feel' the 'inflammation', so at this point I am just 'guessing' that it 'could' be a factor.

adefwebserver i am sorry for this dispute but you needed to understand people may give advice form what they think is true. I wanted to help you by giving you advice, you are the only one who can experiment and see what is working and that takes time, i just wanted to point you in the right direction to find out how to do it, and for you the answer to your question is because fluids have different places in the body that they are absorbed then raw food, so if you ingest raw food the body will process them slower then liquids, this is why i did suggest you to eat something like broccoli that is processed slower by the body.
