I survived day one. To most that isn't a great accomplishment but for me...
Is there any way to keep track of water drank?
I can't believe I actually took the time to walk around the block. Instead of that feeling humiliating I'm going to be thrilled about it.
I need to figure out what to do about this weekend. I have to drive a school bus on an overnight trip and I am absolutely not ready to eat out. Any ideas? Packing a cooler is not an option.
I will be able to eat in restaurants but I'm not sure I have enough will power for that.
Is it legal to slap your daughter for leaving you on the phone with her 13 month old daughter while she talks on the other phone? Don't get me wrong I love my grandkids, but how many times can you say hi.

Day one is a huge step in a very positive direction. When eating out, salads are your friends. Also, feel free to order any burger or chicken sandwich without the bun, they give you a fork and knife. Bring some jerky, nuts and sunflower seeds. Normally you should avoid nuts and seeds during induction, but those are better than getting too hungry and splurging on something you shouldn't eat. Save them for emergencies. Also grab some low-carb protein bars. Again, not induction friendly but the lesser of two evils. You don't want to go out of ketosis once you are in ketosis, and you should be by this weekend. Good luck!

Sara always has great advice!! I would add that it's always nice to have a couple Atkins bars on hand, too. Eating out on this diet is the easiest you've ever had! Usually ranch, creamy garlic, or italian are pretty safe bet on salads. I live on chef salads (leave off the croutons, of course) when I'm on the road. If you are doing fast food, order a double cheeseburger and throw out the bun. And usually fast food places have salads, too. It really isn't that hard. You'll be surprised how much you can find. You're off to a great start!

Oh, I forgot to add that I usually have a 12 oz bottle of water with me and I just try to refill it 5-6 times a day - then I know I'm getting all my water in. That's what I do to keep track of my water intake.

I refill the water bottles too... and try to drink the necessary amount... other than that - sara and Paige have it covered.. and ya couldn't have advice from more knowledgeable minds.. All I can offer is to start a rip roarin sing song on the bus and keep them semi clean!! Now I'm off for a lie down to think about a salmon salas...hmmmmm.... (good luck... we'll try and build ya up so your in the right frame of mind for the weekend, the more lil success's ya have between now and then will really help..like each walk - SUCCESS..each completed day - SUCCESS...at this point mere survival is SUCCESS then before ya know it.. success has become a habit!)

great advice you got there! and yes, why do our kids think we find the conversation of a 13 month old entertaining. THey have no conversational skills at all! I don't know about you but I also don't understand when our kids have a new baby arrive, they say, "grandma would you like to change his diaper?"! Heck NO I don't want to change his diaper. IF I wanted to do anything it would be to cuddle and hold him till he needs changing, or starts fussing and then hand him back to his mother. I have already gone through that phase of my life. Now I want to treat them like baby dolls and put them down when I am done playing with them!
