juanab's Journal, 23 April 2008

I am now on a different blood pressure pill and a diuretic. The weight and the blood pressure were not as high as I was expecting, but still not great.
After talking to Shelby the other day I have decided to take her advice and quit trying to pick a certain diet and just start cutting out sugar, bread, potatoes and pasta and adding the stuff I know I should have. I spend so much time talking about what I'm going to do and no time doing it. Why not listen to my daughters, they aren't fat.

You don't have to exsactly cut out on the things you love... You could just cut down on them :). That way when you have a craving for those things, you won't end up bingeing on them. Or, you could cook healthier alternatives to your favorites!

What are your craving foods? If you're someone like me who lives for sugary foods, maybe that's what you need to focus on cutting out the most? I was surprised with how much weight I lost during the first two weeks of my last diet just by cutting out sugar, drinking lots of water, and walking more (about 15 lbs in 2 weeks, then it slowed down to a healthy rate of about 2-4 lbs a week).

I had the same problem when I was starting... You come up with every excuse NOT to do what you know you have to do... Like, oh I can't find a good diet, oh i don't have the groceries, oh these aren't the right shoes!! As soon as you get over that! You'll be doin awesome!!!

Because you are so busy w/ work, you might miss the workouts, don't overwhelm yourself, do 10min in the am, 10 min after work, & 10 min of good stretching b4 bed, you'd be amazed at how much more energy you will have!! Hugs-Buzybeans
