RachellleR's Journal, 07 February 2019

I had a rough time last night navigating a social event. Made the mistake of having a glass of wine and then nibbling a on not great food choices from then on. I was mad at myself for not following my game plan. So trying not to let the negative self talk derail me today from getting back to the plan no sugar and low carbs! Any bounce back ideas would be appreciated I will drink lots of water and exercise more the next few days.

I’ve done that so many times. One glass of wine turns into two. Than I start eating whatever looks good. It’s how our brains are wired. Just tell yourself that last night was the past. You can’t go back and change it. You have the right to enjoy yourself ever now and then. Forgive yourself for whatever food you ate. Tell yourself your human and you will make mistakes. Continue on today where you left off, and don’t try to “make up,” for last night. The scale will be a little higher for a few days, but after that it will return to where it was.

Thanks good advice and I appreciate the kind words! Sometimes I find it harder to be kind to myself. 🙂

It's always frustrating when that happens, but it's part of being human. The upside is that you recognize it as something you don't want to do again so the next time you are in a similar situation it will be that much easier to stick with your plan.

Unfortunately alcohol lessens inhibitions and it is more difficult to make better choices. I’m not Keto so don’t personally follow that way of life. I’m sure you have a reason for your chosen WOE. Good luck. Perservere.

The best plan...is to get right back on plan. You'll do fine. Be aware though if you are new to Keto that alcoholic beverages might affect you much more than before.
