SoCalPam's Journal, 02 July 2018

Down in the 150's for the first time in many years. I still have more to go, but this is exciting for me! Five years ago I weighed 185. I lost 20 pounds then stopped and got lazy with my body and my life. I was super busy professionally, and kind of let everything go.

I moved back up the scale until I realized that I wasn't being successful with myself. An injury last year made me have to give up my jobs (professional organizer and grocery merchandiser) which led me to find a new job -- at a desk looking at a computer 8 hours a day. I have adapted, but sitting all day made the weight begin to climb even higher.

I've been motivated by a couple of gals in the office who have lost significant weight. We have a bunch of younger women who are fit and healthy and there's no reason I can't be one, too! I'll just be the older version (2.0).

Since being at this job my attitude has changed and that's a good thing. It's taken me just over a month to lose 11 pounds and that's with very little exercise; it's all calorie management and making good food choices. I've bobbled up a bit here and there, but for the most part it's been a downhill trajectory, which is the goal. I'm motivated to keep on! It felt good this morning to look in my closet and realize that very little is fitting me right now (I tend to lose from the top down, so my shoulders and arms are much smaller while my fat middle is staying the same).
