Fritz’s, regarding creamery for your coffee, you can buy the little single serving size like they have in restaurants— land of the lakes is one brand. It costs more for the convenience but when you consider the waste it might be worth it. As far “porch kitty” goes, you can also buy powdered REAL CREAM on Amazon and reconstitute it as needed in smaller quantities. No waste. I buy buttermilk in powdered form, and powdered whole milk (Milk Man brand or Dover brand. You literally cannot tell the difference. Again, no waste. And, it is part of my extensive emergency supply rations so I have to keep stock rotated.

Thanks Kenna - you had mentioned powdered milks before. I have never seen single serving sizes of half and half, but I've never looked for it. I don't plan on having coffee every day so I think a pint size will work for the feral cat and once in awhile coffee. And my cats like it and so does Bobby. I read that dogs aren't lactose intolerant like cats can be. I like the idea of emergency rations. I keep things stocked up and was lucky during the pandemic when no one could find toilet paper - I had enough to get through the first year. I also keep 2-3 months supply of pet food and litter. While humans can eat different things if they can't find exactly what they need - pets are different. I always have enough food in the pantry and freezer to get me through at least a month, maybe longer. Even now we have rain and storms coming up for at least a week. If it isn't safe to drive to the store or if the power goes out I am good. I understand about needed to keep the stock rotated though, hate to throw things out after the expiration date.

Thanks Kat - I didn't know there was powdered skim milk. I drink non fat milk most days. I wonder what the powdered version tastes like

Much of the powdered milk, sold in stores is non-fat. I use it too. Even Walmart Carrie’s it and the Land of the Lakes boxes of half/half, buttermilk and sometimes whole milk.. You can also by 2% and whole milk . My powdered cream I buy from Amazon. Trader joe’s sells shelf stable 8 oz. Boxes of cream. I keep that on hand to make whipped cream. Amazon even has dehydrated burger. Fritzy—- you gotta get out in the world more. I am a half hearted prepped. I could probably survive six months on pantry items if I needed to, and I believe that day is coming.

That is suppose to say dehydrated butter.. Amazon would be helpful for you— I think you live a fair ways from a major store. I’m glad you are stocking up on things. Especially for people who are single. Large quantities of many things just won’t last.

Thanks seashell -I love Crystal Light and finished off some raspberry ice tea before the year ended. My goal is to reduce processed food and that eliminates it.
