I went to nutritionist yesterday. I lost a bit of weight and measurements went down in waist and hips. Others stayed same but she said that's muscle as I'm working out alot. I am really liking this carb cycling! I sometimes have a hard time eating all my RDI calories but on my carb cycling days I eat more than on my regular days! The weight is slowly coming off but the benefits go beyond weight loss. I have been eating a much cleaner diet and the effects are definitely there! My autoimmune issues have been so much better! ( I have Hashimotos disease and CPPD, which is a build up of calcium in my joints, causing alot of swelling and pain) My skin is brighter, my hair is growing in like crazy, and I definitely have more energy! The pain from my autoimmune issues is definitely diminished! I can't say if this is having an effect either way on my heart issues but I can only surmise that clean food will have positive effects on that as well. I feel good! 💪👍💜💜

It all sounds so wonderful. Glad you found something that works so well for you. Carb cycling is something I have pondered. I think I will look into it some more

Liv, While this plan may not be for everyone I find it super helpful. I do not find it any harder than when I with held calorie intake. Check it out for sure!💜

Shirl, thank you! It's definitely working for me! Petra, I agree, CICO is a good guide to losing weight but I think I needed a jump start on my stall of losing weight. The added benefits of clean eating and low carbs added to positive results for me and my health issues!
Liv, I forgot to mention that the 1st week I did the carb cycling I was concerned because I did experience a bit of " brain fog" My nutritionist said that is normal but it went away after 2 ND week and now I feel much sharper.

I’m so happy for you- so many benefits and nonscale wins! I used carb cycling before with success your post inspires me to consider it again, especially with the autoimmune improvements! Keep up the awesome job!

Gage, not saying carb cycling is building my muscles, ( not exactly sure what your point is in relation to what I'm doing💜) I have been weightlifting for quite some time. I work out 6 days a week, heavy weightlifting is done 5 days a week and cardio (Tabatha/ Hiit workout) included 2 days a week. I do see a clearer definition in my muscle tone. I'm just saying I have noticed other benefits from what I originally thought would happen from this journey I'm on. 💜

Eggbeaters, I am 5'6"", I weigh 131.4, my RDI is 1200. My measurements are: biceps 12", waist 29.5, hips 36", thighs 21.8". I can't measure my BMI since magnets are involved I cannot use equipment.( I have a pacemaker) I know 1200 calories may seem low compared to my work out schedule of 6xs week but I am 64 and retired. . I do have a few auto immune issues and a pacemaker as well as an ejector fraction issue with heart. I have made sure to contact doctors regarding this new journey I'm on as well as using a nutritionist. All are on board.
Carb cycling is done 2xs weekly. (Tues & Sat) On those days I eat under 40 grams carbs a day, I increase protein to 125+ gs and fat is 40+ gs. Other days I eat normal, but no processed if possible Fri is a treat meal day if I wish to take it.

I just wanted to know if you're having any acupuncture for your swelling? Also, have you tried drinking 1 Tbls of Apple Cider Vinegar in a cup of hot h2o like tea? YOu can add honey & lemon to it too. Just wondering. Keep up the awesome work! I gained 5 lbs due to the accident we were in on 02/13/22. I am lucky I can still walk bc after about 5 minutes, or less, of walking, I begin getting pain after pain in various places, but I keep trying and maybe pushing myself too much to do what I used to be able to do before accident. :...(
