LaughingChevre- Your NEAT is any activity that doesnt involve Exercise, like standing, sitting, housework, etc. I never sat down since Me and the Wife came home with our Newborn. 👶🏻

Chevere I use a fitbit. A normal day at work is 12k steps and a pretty good burn.

Wow 👶🏻 I guess this is why my mum was skinny without being engaged in formal exercise or calorie-counting or any restriction during her younger years. Always on her feet, active, and I guess not excessive. Anyway, thanks, and Hebrews as well. To this day, I don't know how many calories I expend during daily activities or even in exercise, just use estimates. Need to see over a period of months how much I'm eating, moving and its effect on weight.

Wow, Chevre thank you for asking Adrian that question. I never heard of that either so I looked it up...
We focus on activity thermogenesis – calories burned while exercising – when attempting to lose weight. Non-exercise activity thermogenesis (NEAT) is the energy expended for everything we do when we're not sleeping or exercising (hence the “non-exercise”). ... They all burn calories, and more than we would expect.
Thank you so much Adrian!!!
I learned something today it’s - weird how no one has ever mentioned that.
And again, congratulations with your baby you’ll be experiencing NEAT for a long time now!
Blessings and I hope you’re getting some sleep.👏👍

Huge drop! Wow! Newborns are a lot of work but it gets worse! lol. At least, for the most part, they stay in one place where you set them. Enjoy this special time! Congrats on being a daddy and your huge drop!

For LC, I rmbr a mbr logging "doing the deed" in daily activities😳😬🤐 Seriously. Can't make that up.

HAHAHA Acomandr. I remember some days when I first started, I would desperately add "standing" to my activity if I felt I hadn't moved enough for my displayed energy expenditure to match my calories in. Now I only log walking, running, and weights (and I halve the time for weights because mine are not very heavy), and don't worry too much whether it matches or not.

Why does your profile say you're "single, desperate, & lonely? Anyways, I have found that when I do housework, no matter what it is, I sweat faster/more than when I do my Aerobic/Cardio 1 hr. workout. Also, when I go for walks, I get tired, afterwards, and I sleep better at night, and sometimes I sweat too. Go figure! lol
