Out of curiosity, why do you choose milk over cream?

@cjodyssey - Dr. Fung says no to the cream :( https://bit.ly/2Mh1za7 But, he does allow milk: https://bit.ly/2xbNsO6

@marshakanady - Thanks. After day 3 it really is easy for me. I just like Big Mac's and I will eat one when this fast is over :) ...And then get back on the fast...

In your links he says you can have cream and that he puts cream in his coffee. He said that cream generally does not undo any positives. For milk he says milk technically does not fall within the guidelines of a true fast but having milk or cream in coffee often improves compliance. He doesn't say no to cream so you can have it, if you want it. It has more fat but fewer carbs than milk.

You are doing great, you are really inspirational about fasting!

@cjodyssey - I was going with the "...In others, it may undo some of the positives" part :) With the milk I felt it was solid yes.

Nice work, brother! I'm pushing out an extra day until Monday. 88:8. Will be my longest fast yet. Definite plateau breaker. Thanks for the inspiration! Let's go! #stillgrindtime #getserious #stayhungry

@Steven Anthony - Thanks! It may be a month or more before I can try another 11 day fast. This weekend was special because we did not have any 'events' planned. Dr. Fung says "Plan your fasting around your life, not your life around your fasting" :)

@Draglist - Thanks! This should be the last big drop. I'm ok with that.

Perhaps your body parts spent a lot of the night congratulating each other for being able to keep up with you all day. And the best part is that you woke up feeling great. Good job!

@cjodyssey - I was basing my earlier statements about the coffee from the audiobook. I finally downloaded it to my Kindle so I could post the entire thing:
- - - - -
What you can’t add to your coffee:
* Try to avoid low-fat and skim milks; whole milk is better
* Powdered dairy products
* Natural or artificial sweeteners of any kind
- - - - -
What you can add to your coffee:
* Coconut oil
* Medium-chain triglyceride oil (MCT oil)
* Butter
* Ghee
* Heavy whipping cream (35% fat)
* Half and half
* Whole milk
* Ground cinnamon, for flavor

@CrashtestDawnie - … and I will be back on a 5 days fast that Monday!

Gotcha. It's personal preference. I would choose half and half or cream because of the very low carb count(plus milk doesn't really satisfy me in coffee). But everyone has their own tastes. I just wondered why not cream :-)

Isn't fasting induced insomnia a known and well researched thing, caused by fast-induced epinephrine and orexin spikes? The adaptive explanation might be that your body knows it needs food, fires up the epinephrine to release fat stores for energy and to, along with the orexin, to keep you awake to go procure food. Think I read that somewhere (Fung?).
