i was stuck this week. i have in the past few months been eating and weight lifting in the right balance to loose one pound a week. but i lost sight of what was working because i follow a weight loss forum on redit. and some people go into detail explaining what they do and eat in hopes to get insight on why they are not loosing. and they were eating soooo carefully and compleatly eliminating complete food groups. and still not loosing. and although it sounds dumb i started to doubt my progress and doubt my plan. and i started getting anxious that im eating too much. and why do i let myself have pretzle sticks sometimes? no wonder i stayed the same weight this week i am not as dedicated as these people....but i knew these thoughts were unwarented.im doing fine. and comparison is the killer of joy. some weight loss support groups on the internet start with good intentions and without trying turn really negative and critical. all that to say....this comunity so far is the best. everyone is encoraging and realistic and it never makes me doubt myself. have a great day everyone.

Totally agree! The 1 basic rule is calorie deficit. period. eat less than you burn and how ever those calories look for you...is fine. I personally leave 200 calories a day for junk. that's the equivalent of 1 candy bar or some cookies, or a big muffin..you get the idea 😊. That way I never ever fall into the mental trap of 'I cant HAVE that' which leads to distorted and difficult ways of eating. find your calorie limit, then learn to eat within it however you ENJOY eating so you can stick with it. fad diets be damned ❤❤

Great words! yes, we're all on a life style path here, that is ours alone, yet can be encouragement to any who truly want to join. I'm simply cutting carbs, and keeping calories down.

Mouser, that's smart. If we allow ourselves "treats" instead of eliminating everything we're more apt to stick with it long term. As long as it fits in your calorie count, it's OK. Of course our diets should hopefully be mostly healthier foods.

I agree with all the comments. Another obvious ones if you haven't done already. You can go back look at your meals that were working for you. I look at your diet calendar, calories intake aren't bad. Maybe you can step up the workouts just a tad💪💪💪

What anonamouser said. Being strict isn't sustainable for the majority. There is a reason most people fail at this. Flexibility is key. Not beating yourself up is key. This is a new lifestyle. Slowly form realistic healthier habits.

Portion control and moderation. Healthier eating most of the time and less healthy, or less conducive to weight maintenance just once in a while. This is not a diet. This is a way of living that allows you to include fun foods into your world IF can manage the basic concepts. I have been reminded that many people are “addicted” and cannot do that, but for others it works very effectively.

Many days a week it seems I eat like a canary. One day a week, I usually throw the diet out. even then, in moderation. So some weeks I don't see as much progress, maybe even a reversal. but long term? I'm staying steady, perhaps, month long waiting. And I Enjoy what I do eat.
