Oatmeal sure spiked my blood sugar!
Really enjoyed reading this blog... I have basically turned paleo except for oats...old, old habits. Will put these on the back burner as well now... fascinating read about spik ing blood sugar. Have found eating bacon and eggs, butter, coconut oil, not counting calories etc...weight is coming down, down, down.

Anyone on the Zoe Harcombe diet?
the book does have recipes.... quite simple ones...which suit me. recipes are for the Phase 1 and 2. really interesting read about insulin as well.

Anyone on the Zoe Harcombe diet?
For me the hardest part was a mind change...to stop counting calories. And perhaps my advantage is being wheat free which cuts out bread (one of my favourite foods), cakes, pastries, etc.... (was wheat free long before I followed this plan).

Anyone on the Zoe Harcombe diet?
I am. Zoe Harcombe; a nutritionist, has done a lot of research and also what she says makes common sense. Basically; eat real foods and no processed foods, no sugar and don't give in to your cravings. I downloaded her book from Kindle (for just a few dollars); "Stop Counting calories and lose weight." Worth reading. My husband who is a sugar addict and getting severely overweight, has started as well. He finds it hard, but every morning, losing 200-500 gms a day, is keeping him motivated. Long may it last for both of us.

Oatmeal sure spiked my blood sugar!
I have a green smoothie: 1 c almond milk (unsweetened), handful of kale and watercress and 1 tbsp protein powder. Never hungry till lunch time. Would be interested about the sugar spiking with this breakfast. Can't believe have to buy unsweetened almond milk.... original almond milk has loads of sugar added. Why do they do this????
