I am a single mom of 4 with only one still living at home and a grandma of 3. I am disabled with Gulf War Syndrome and fibromyalgia. I am in pain most of the time but keep on going. I am a part-time college student. I am a member of the YMCA but never seem to find time to go since I am so tired all of the time. I need to lose weight not only for my health, but for me to feel better about myself. I would like to be more fit. Able to do more without getting out of breath.

Started back recently
Hi, I'm Patty and I just started my diet back of recently. I have just tried to eat less of the junk food that I have always eaten. I have a bad habit of eating out all of the time. Being on the go most of the time, I have to just grab something from a fast food place and snarf it down before I get to the next place. So I started by not getting the huge regular meal and just getting a $1 menu item and eating that. Worked out well because now I am not as stuffed! Then I have been incorporating more fruits and vegies. I have also stopped buying snacks for the house. Stopped making cookies and brownies. When I want to snack, I am usually bored or fidgety and want something for my hand or mouth to be busy. So I am becoming conscious of what I am doing and feeling. I will be starting an exercise program at the YMCA. Hard for me to find time and energy as I am on the go all the time and tired from it because I have fibromyalgia. But it is a commitment to myself to get healthier and down to a normal weight. I don't need to be skinny. I just want to look good.
